42 satellites visible in the sky tonight
« on: April 20, 2020, 02:13:36 PM »

Saw lots on social media last night about how cool these satellites looked and they will be back tonight at 10 pm

You can check if they will be near you here:

This is the link that was shared by my friend at SpaceX. Tells you which area of the sky to look. :) There's the Lyrid meteor shower tonight too!

What did you guys see?  We saw about 8  faint dots moving across one part of the sky , maybe one every minute or so.  I can't imagine how my neighbours thought they were drones.
I'm not surprised we couldn't see much as we are in an area with a lot of light.

Where they shooting around like Star Wars?  Did they look like drones?  Was there more than one in the sky at once?

I live out in the countryside, and on Sunday night it was a series of bright lights - like stars - about 2 hands apart from each other if you held your hand at arm's length. The line went on for several minutes. If you're a nerd with a good imagination you could've pretended they were a series of spaceships coming to land/invade/whatever.

Last night (Monday) was not as cool. I only saw 2 lights, and they were much less bright.

.

Lots of people in my village were genuinely concerned that this is what was happening! Haha

That's starting to sound like my experience.  I want to speak to the manager.
By the way, my wife is incandescent with rage at Elon Musk for launching that car into space.   I couldn't tell her Elon also put up those satellites or she would have refused to come outside.

I used that link above to confirm that it should be 9 pm tonight.  I also clicked on the link where you can see where they will be in the night sky and was terrified to see some dystopian view of my neighborhood filmed with x-rays.  Stay away from that link if you are easily frightened.

We LOVE space car!  We took a screenshot of it with Earth in the background, and it's the wallpaper image on our home entertainment PC.  Why is she upset?  With all the junk already out there, I don't see how it could make a difference.
