If you're near central london and you know where Tottenham court road station is try going to this place:
http://www.foyles.co.uk/foyles/default.asp They have a very large selection, I'd be surprised if you didn't find it there (They're also doing a sale at present) so if you can't find it in the library you'll more than likely find it at foyles.

Or, you can request a book added to your local library. I'm not saying it will be fast but you will get to read it in the end.

Enchantment

Description:

Just to wet the appetite a little more ;)

Is the book of choice "Enchantment" then?   [smiley=inquisitive.gif]I know it was mentioned about waiting one week for folks to vote but I'm not sure what the end decision was.
Life should NOT be a journey to the
grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well
preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand,
wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and
screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Hi Runner...  not wishing to assume, I would say yes it is...  but I too am waiting for Wench to announce the final decision.

Hi,

We won't be able to take part in the book club this time because we can't afford to buy the book.

I am yet to actually buy the book, but I shall!  I have a problem with finding the time to go and get it from our local book place.  I'll probably go this weekend and try to buy the new harry potter one at the same time. Is there a deadline?  And will we be analysing as we read or only when we've all finished the book?

I shouldn't have thought that everyone was buying it.  I'm sure that there's some people who are borrowing it.  Have you looked around in the local charity shops to see if you can find it?

Even if you can't find it, there'll be no problem if you have to pull out of this particular times selection, other people have already pulled out with no problem.

My local library is a countywide service, they have computers which search the county's books database, and one can request a book transferred in from another library for 85p, I imagine that as they are also searchable from their website, that other county library systems are as well. Try checking your local shire's website. The format is standard, www.yourshire.gov.uk for most.

I haven't picked my copy up yet, but then I'm planning to get get it whilst running amok in London tomorrow.  :D  (MUA HA and I know the PERFECT shop to get it from! <looks in Jenny's general direction>)

I'm thinking you could make a thread for discussing it on, but might want to warn peeps about spoilers, for those reading at a less frentic pace.  ;D

And I hearby appoint Ashley to appoint a deadline.   [smiley=devilish.gif]
Simply because she didn't think to appoint me first.

hehehehehe
