  Well, I don't really like IPAs anyway, so I'm a tough crowd.  Bought it by accident, thought it was like a wheat beer, took the hazy bit too serious.  It was weirdly slimy and the 9.5 alcohol just made it taste like Windex.  Slimy Windex. 

Cherry beers are a bit of a weak spot for me, It's the only fruit beer I really like.   This one certainly stood up to any Belgian one I've tried.  I was surprised to see the Samual Smith one made in Yorkshire?  I thought they were a big American brewer, sort of a fake craft brewer from the time before craft brewers. 

Samuel Smith is a UK brewery. It's fairly traditional  in style (i'm not big on traditional stuff except on the odd occasion). Their pub chain is really stern lol no swearing, live music, using phones - they like to try to keep traditional pub for socialising feels.

I wouldn't have tried that Triple Hazy simply because it's Brewdog.  (I hold grudges!    )  But the NEIPA is the style i drink most of these days.  We've got 3 fridges full of the stuff.... Overtone, Track, Vocation, Deya, Verdant, Pollys.  My palate must not be very sophisticated, as they all taste pretty much the same to me... when OH asks me what i want, i just say 'dealer's choice' because, while i like them all, they all taste much of a muchness, so it really doesnt matter what he pours me, as i wouldn't know one from another.  Apart from that new (?) one from Track, the gold top If You Lose Me, which seems to have a lot of lactose in it and is much too sweet and YUK.

I had a bad experience with kriek years ago, so i probably wouldn't have tried the Samuel Smiths either.

Depends on which they are because to be fair the majority of the beers those breweries make are very similar anyways so i don't blame you. Unless you're sitting there trying to analyse, i can see how it's much of a muchness.

That's funny that we both disliked the same beer.  I'm not actually that bothered and rarely actively dislike a beer so much I wouldn't drink it again, but that one was special. 

Go on then Albatross, tell us what Kriek did to you?  I can't imagine drinking enough of it to get really wasted. 

Nah, I wasn't wasted... just a wee bit sick.
I had ordered a half litre of the kriek, and my know-it-all friend told me that kriek isn't meant to be drunk like that, you're meant to drink it in thirds or in koelsch glasses/measures.  But i was embarrassed and wanted to prove him wrong, so i downed that pint and then went for another one...in an 'I'll show you' kind of way.  Tanned the 2nd pint and then moved on to something else, but that acidic sourness of the kriek wreaked havoc on my stomach and just kind of ruined the rest of the sesh for me.  I do generally like anything cherry flavoured, though, and i can promise you that if Omnipollo ever did a cherry version of the Bianca maple pancake lassi gose, I wouldn't hesitate to try it!!

It's a well hated beer from what i've seen hah i'm more shocked you tried it!

They did! It's in the red coloured can. It's cherry maple pancake. I feel ill reading your story
