I kinda went overboard... Anaheim, poblano, sweet Hungarian, red cherry, lunchbox sweet peppera, and lil razzmatazz. I got a grow light from Nan in her downsizing so I'm hoping I can keep some of them going over the winter too. :)

Spent two days this week cutting back the hedge that was growing through the garden fence, to restore "tree tunnel".  Pruning was easy.  Clearing all the detritus was really hard work.  But now, when the sun is overhead, I have a nice shady line along the fence for planting my chair under when I sit in the garden.  I love tree tunnel!

The forecast is big sun and 20-21C through Sunday.  And my garden is tidy (except for the big burn pile at the end of it).  Yay weather!

That looks lovely!  :D I've been pruning trees today. Had to come in for a rest, handling a pole saw is hard work!  It'll take months of brown bins to get rid of it all.  Never thought I'd be wistful about the days when I could just throw it all in the back of the car and sail on up to the dump!   ;D

If a pole saw is required, you take all the breaks you need! Ugh!  I only pruned at my level.  Anything above my head is above my pay grade.  :P

I'm struggling to understand why the dumps aren't open.
Seems like it would be easy to socially distance, by allowing only a couple of cars in at a time, and it's outdoors, surrounded by fresh air, so it seems like it would be pretty low risk for the council cowp workers.

With the amount of beer deliveries he's getting, OH is undoubtedly up to his eyebrows in cardboard boxes, empty cans and bottles!

I'm going mad with the dumps being shut. Our council says that the dumps will open on the 1st June, for bagged waste and garden rubbish only and ONLY if you cannot store it safely at home.
'In the initial phase the sites are open for essential waste disposal only and householders are advised that journeys to a recycling centre must only be undertaken if their waste cannot be stored at home safely. By this we mean the waste cannot be stored without causing risk of injury, or harm to health.'

(We are using the health line, because we have bags of guinea pig waste that are attracting mice)

Here in Wales, or at least in my council, the "recycling centres" are open again, but by appointment only.  But it lets households bring things that can't be collected at curbside in to be disposed of.

Still sunny and warm here, but that's supposed to cool a bit tomorrow. Been trying to get my garden beds plantable using only (limited) upper body strength, and it's been too hot! Nothing like trying to mix compost and food into clay soil that hasn't been touched in many years. Hoping I managed to get deep enough for the courgettes to make it.

Still warm but not as sunny. Tried really hard to rain for a while but only managed a few drops!  :)

A bit cooler than it has been lately, but I'm pleased. The flat was getting too warm.

Wild, wet and windy here in the North West of England.  And chilly.

All that UK weather sound so nice. I am having to deal with 80-99 F days here in California. :/

Longing for UK weather!

Margo: glad to see you grow vegetables. I hope to get that going when I move. I miss being in the garden. It's my happy place.

Was rainy ,dark and freezing these last few days. Had to have the heat on for a bit at night, in June. It was 4C one night!
Sun has popped back out at least, but not all that warm still.

We had to turn the heat on down here too. So cold in the mornings! After the last few weeks the reprieve from overly warm weather was nice, but I want the sun back.

It's been nice here the last few days. Was able to walk to Byres Road yesterday afternoon. Needed a sweatshirt for warmth, but no coat. There was a stand set up outside Old Salty's restaurant that was selling ice cream and hamburgers. We bought a couple of hamburgers and went and sat in the Botanic Gardens to eat them. Followed up with ice cream from the stand in the Gardens.  That was one amazingly good hamburger - cooked on a grill outside while we waited.

Thankfully not too many people out on the street, as almost nobody had masks on. The garden was pretty full. Again, almost nobody wearing masks (except us). Was nice to get out for a walk. The back even let me sit on the bench in the garden for a good 20 minutes before it started complaining at me and we had to go home.  Puffy white clouds in a blue sky, nice cool breeze. Lots of roses blooming. It's what I think an ideal spring day would be - even if it's the middle of June! Hope it stays like this for the duration.

You guys stay safe.
