It was in the upper 20Fs earlier this week. It got up to 55F today. It's supposed to sleet/snow/ice on Monday.  [smiley=behead.gif]

It's been quite bad over here around Manchester, UK. We've just had a storm and one classed as a T5 tornado that hit Stalybridge causing substantial damage to properties.

It needs to stop raining and hailstoning. I had to take shelter in my car yesterday when I wanted to clean the inside of it out.

I think we are due another storm at some point over the weekend.

Let's hope the new year brings better weather for us all.

It's in the 20Fs and been snowing for a day. Tomorrow is no snow. Tuesday is now followed by rain. Considering the amount of snow on the ground, that means Wednesday is going to be flooding day.

Speaking of, hope you folks in the south of the UK are doing ok with the flooding situation. It looks ghastly on the news.  Be safe!

That's so pretty!  :)
I love the way you can see the footprints of all the  little garden visitors when it snows. I must defrost the birdbaths again now, they were frozen solid yesterday.

Very pretty. I've got a similar view out my windows here today. Nice fluffy snow, not wet snow (so far) and we're due six inches of it. I may actually bundle up and go for a walk in it in a bit - it'd be like walking in a snow globe.

Brr!

I’m suddenly glad I’m not in the UK at the moment!

I’m currently on holiday in New Zealand, where it’s been between 20 and 30 Celsius, and I’m off to Australia this afternoon :)

How are they for clearing roads there? I haven't been able to drive in quite a while, but back home the difference was snow tires and lots of plows - SE they barely have enough gritters.

Shite!  Hubby went out yesterday and said none of the roads had been treated or touched at all.  Well to be fair our council has to deal with roads across a geographic area the size of Belgium.  But they're not very proactive either.  Sprinkling some grit, instead of plowing, only makes it icier.

But, definitely not like places in the US with lots of snow (like New England where I grew up), so many people have plows on their own trucks to make extra money clearing driveways, snowblowers, electric snow shovels ,etc.  Then all the towns have their own crews. Everyone with snow/all weather tyres, chains, all wheel drive/4x4 vehicles, etc.

Yeah, grit without plowing is very bad news! Yikes. I guess that's another way they'll have to adapt to climate change here as more extreme hot and cold/snowy weather needs different equipment.
