VFS Super Priority Service: Is it really next day?
« on: June 29, 2020, 03:09:38 PM »
Some background on myself: I am applying for a fiancee visa from the state of California. My fiance was born in and is currently living in England. The pre-COVID plan was for me to move to the UK sometime in August (depending on when my visa was approved) and for us to have a wedding in October. We had already talked to the church and booked the reception venue in January, and everything was looking good until lock down happened for both of us. Obviously moving and getting married will be very different now, but we would like to keep the time frame the same, if possible.

USCIS Application Support Centers are supposed to open on the 13th of July. It looks like the Premium Application Centre in LA offers a Gold Premium Package, which includes next business day decisions. It seems too good to be true, especially given the amount of paperwork involved in evidencing a relationship.

Does anyone have any experience with Premium Application Centres? Can you verify the turn around time when paying for faster processing? If any other information is needed, please feel free to ask!

Thanks in advance!

Update: Thank you to everyone who has responded so quickly! To clarify: I have no intention to travel any other time than when I move to the UK, so keeping my passport is not an issue at all. I didn't know that there isn't really an expedited processing for partner visas (the main subject of my post). That is good to know. It's unfortunate... but good to know. I emailed VFS at the same time I posted to this forum. I'll update with their feedback whenever that arrives. Please feel free to keep on giving your thoughts and sharing your knowledge in the meantime.

Welcome to the forum :).

Unfortunately, the Gold Premium Service is NOT available for settlement visa applications. It applies to visitor, student, work visas only and NOT to fiance or spousal visas.

The ONLY Premium Centre option for a fiance visa is the Settlement Premium Service for $2,000 but this is NOT a next-day service.

This service does NOT get your visa processed any quicker than just using the regular Settlement Priority Service for about $800, because the visa still has to be processed in Sheffield, UK. The average processing time will still be somewhere around 15 to 30 working days (possibly longer if there are backlogs because of Covid).

Settlement Premium Service ($2000) includes:
- the $800 Settlement priority processing service
- return courier
- document checking and scanning
- you get to keep your passport if you like

Or you can just pay for the $800 service plus the courier service and scan your documents for free. The only difference is you have to send off your passport.

So, basically, you are paying an extra $1200 in order to keep your passport while the visa is processing.

Having said that, it looks like they are not currently offering the $800 Settlement Priority Processing package - I assume this is due to Covid.

Welcome!

Save the money and use regular priority.  While just as fast as the $2,000 service, it actually is longer if you keep your passport, as you have to mail it back to them and they have to mail it back to you.  And you can’t travel to the UK during the process.  So only good if you are travelling to a third country.
