Thanks ksand24, I guess this also goes for biometric reuse. I will never be attending an appointment but have not been invited to upload my photo yet. I assume that’s the cutoff? ☺️ Hope so!

I’m not sure on that, since we don’t know how they are working it but I assume they will let you know when they need the documents by.

Geez I’m glad I went back to the Sopra Steria site to see if anything was different. I had uploaded all my documents almost two months ago and FORGOT TO CLICK SUBMIT! I feel like a right idiot and am glad I caught it.

That was easy to miss once you move to the upload documents page. Hopefully this doesn’t affect anything since I haven’t attended an appointment yet.
There was no submit button when I uploaded mine. I think they added that fairly recently!

Correct, likewise. I only noticed it appear mid-July I think, when I was still haplessly and hopelessly logging in every day to UKVCAS :) when I saw it, I pushed it, thinking I had missed it first time around (but seems not!)

Good morning Everyone,

I surprisingly received a decision from Home Office today. That is after receiving an email yesterday stating that they won’t be able to process my application within the normal 60 day period.

My application was submitted on 30 June and biometrics completed at a London center on 28, July.

I was hopeful all along that things won’t be too bad and fortunately it wasn’t. Im hoping that this brings you all hope as well that things are moving along and results will be delivered soon.

Were you invited to schedule biometrics or told they couldn't be reused? I'm livid to have submitted in May and still be waiting with no timelines.

Hi Margo,

I can honestly understand your frustration... there doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason to all of this.
I was informed that my biometrics could not be reused. My only option was to attend an appointment.

Thanks. If my MP gets back to me I'll be sure he knows they've been inviting folks for biometrics well out of order of applications. I'm glad you have your visa, my frustration is with the system!

I’m getting flashbacks to the 11 months we waited for my husbands fiancé visa from the U.K. to USA to be processed back in 2014. We were unlucky to be assigned to a slow service center while others were processed in 15-20 days 😓

Really hope this isn’t going that way. I have enough anxiety the way it is!

The system is well and truly all over the place. I was viewing another immigration forum which has a timeline for applicants. There was someone who applied mid June didn’t attend biometrics as could be reused and somehow has had a decision???
I’m not sure anyone has even been able to use the app yet.

It shouldn’t affect anything, since the documents just have to be submitted by the day of your appointment :).

Whew! I've been stressed about uploading everything. We applied on 9 Aug but needed some stuff from our accountant to have exactly what they've requested. Is it best to upload the documents ourselves or wait until the biometrics appointment and have them do it?

It's up to you.

You may not be required to attend a biometrics appointment and can use the app instead, so in that case they won't be able to upload anything for you, and so you will either have to upload all your documents to the UKVCAS website or to the app.

Uploading them yourself is free, whereas having them upload the documents at an appointment will usually cost an extra £50 on top of the appointment fee (i.e. if they only have £110 appointments available, it will cost you £160 in total for the appointment and upload of documents).

We had a look at UKVCAS for appointments yesterday and cannot find a single one. Even VIP appointments (not that we were planning to use that option). All sites we checked go out a month on dates and nothing is available. Is that what everyone else is seeing? Do appointments only become available (eg) at midnight and they're being snapped up immediately?

My wife's visa officially expires today and we paid for the visa/IHS on 09 August. We've started on the document scanning and should complete later on this afternoon. I'm a bit unsure about clicking on the Submit button if there are no appointments. Or do you get a valid of possible appointments only after you've submitted.

Martin

Have you been contacted by UKVI by email yet to let you know whether or not you are eligible to use the app or if you will need to book an appointment to give biometrics?

If you have not received an email about the IDV app, you may not be eligible to book an appointment through UKVCAS yet, which could be why nothing is showing up when you search for appointments.
