I just got this rather disheartening email..... anyone else get this???? I applied for FLRM on July 13 and still have not gotten my email invite for the app... then this hit my inbox. What does it all mean? Are they not gonna make their own Aug 7th deadline? Any thoughts anyone? My hair is falling out....

I received that email before the 7th September date was announced. It seems like their standard ‘This is going to take longer to get a decision’ email. I’d not put any stock in it being related to the 7th deadline.

I haven’t received an invite either and I applied 16 June. From this and other forums loads of July and now August applicants have received invites. Some people seem to be in a black hole of invites dating back to April. 🥺

TwoWool-

Thanks.... I guess I will just have to keep breathing deep. Not much else we can do I suppose. Good to know others have received the same however. I just wish they would go in order like they claimed. Seems the fair thing to do.

I agree. I think everyone knew this would be a long process but it was helped being told ‘In date order’. Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be happening  :-\\\\

You are not alone! We just have to keep waiting I guess.

I got that email in July! I applied for FLR(M) in May. So.... I think pretty much everyone is receiving it right now because they cannot meet the service standard for anyone.

I received that email around mid August, after my 30 Jun application and received an approval a few days later. Like others have said, it doesn’t really mean much.

Hi All,

Quick update from our end.

Submitted online application for FLR M June 12th, received emails about opt in for the IDV app first week of August, we decided to opt out and go down the appointment route.

Attended biometrics appointment (with scanning service for documents) today September 5th in London, in and out in about half an hour or so.

Note: there are NO free appointments on the system, so those of you who are opting out and wishing to go down the biometrics appointment route please note that free appointments will be about a 2-3 months wait. We paid an extra £110 for an appointment (which are normally same day or next day appointment, but even then ours was for September, which was a few weeks out from when we received the acknowledgment email inviting us to book the appointment!)

The additional document scanning service was £49.99. (Following on from the scanning service, you will be able to verify this by logging back into the Sopra Steria site and it will show that documents have been uploaded)

The one thing I did notice is when my wife attended the biometrics appointment today in London, she was out in about 30 mins however for some reason the advisor at the centre did not take a copy of MY passport (immigration status of the sponsor, british citizen) I told my wife to go back inside and Explain that the applicant sponsor Passport is a mandatory document and therefore he should take a copy of it. Advisor explained it was not required but he scanned a copy of my passport anyway....

Other than that it was a straightforward process.

TIP: Advisors at sopra steria centres really do appreciate documents being in order if you require the scanning service, it makes their job so much easier and quicker so please try not to go in there with messy docs!

Is opting out of the IDV App and going to appointments the general best way forward that everyone feels gets quickest resolution? We've scanned and submitted all our docs and got the email about using the IDV app in a few weeks. I'd much rather pay the £110 to get this done as quick as possible.

Martin

It's still too soon to tell. No one knows how quickly things will process after biometrics now that the app is in use. It'll be interesting to see when j2j gets their BRP! We haven't seen any IDV app approvals yet, but its only been in use just over a week so I have a feeling there will be teething issues.

Very disheartened the self-imposed deadline of Sept 7 has come and gone and many of us have not received our app invite. Don't make promises you can't keep!!

So now I am debating, like many I am sure, to go with the app or an in person appointment once I do get the invite.

My question is, I see the listing for my local USVACS office has two things listed under services " Digitisation and Biometric Capture" other larger offices list three services " Digitisation,  Biometric Capture, Interpretation".

I have scanned in all of my paperwork via the website and I believe only need the biometric scans completed but I don't want to make an appointment at my local and them not be able to complete my application.

So what is "Interpertation" that my local is not able to do and would I need that service if, as I believe,  I only need biometrics?

Thanks

Interpretation means that will have people on hand that will provide a translation and interpretation service for those individuals where English is not their first language and if they have any questions.

I had my biometrics appointment on 8/27 in Nottingham, and I was told this too. Under the "mandatory documents" section of my ILR application, only my passport is listed (printed it out for reference)... Pretty sure we submitted his passport with my first visa application.
I brought his passport to the appointment just in case, and asked about it. But, the adviser insisted it wasn't needed.
