Super happy that we got the email to say we don’t have to attend biometrics, but looking at earlier posts May people haven’t had an update on the new process, hope it doesn’t drag too long!

Have there been any approvals on the forum lately?

Yes I submitted my ILR on the 28th of March.  And after the “don’t need biometrics” email on the 3rd July, haven’t had any updates

We just received the email stating that they will be re-using previous biometric fingerprint data in support of this FLR(M) application.

The email advised that they will be in touch in the next few weeks to advise on next steps and the process of uploading a facial recognition digital image.

Now the question is, should we go ahead and upload all our docs on the sopra steria site as we were initially hoping to use the document scanning service at one of the service centres....

Thoughts?

Same question for us too. Should we upload the documents? The email doesn’t seem to indicate one way or another.

Given there isn't currently the option to have them upload, I took the time to do the upload after receiving the new process email. I'm hoping if anything is missing they will ask because I am afraid I missed something or scanned wrong or something, you know? So I would upload the docs and save yourself some money and at least get it processing.

Hi margo when you say the “new Process Email” you mean the one that we algo right ? The one which states that they will use previous biometrics data?

Correct. The one that says they will reuse biometrics and they will contact with details on how to upload a photo. I am hoping they send that soon! I applied in May and the email was July 4th.

Hi everyone,

Jumping on this thread. I submitted my application for ILR on June 26th and just received my email today saying they will reuse my old bio information and I do not need to attend an appointment (woo!).

I'm in a similar boat where I have uploaded my documents but am just nervous to hit that "submit" button. Probably redundant, but did anyone submit a PDF version of their completed application with their docs?

My current visa expires on August 9th, and I think it's safe to say I won't receive a decision by then, probably wont even receive further steps for submitting my picture, is anyone else in the same boat? Did you email immigration to flag this or anything? Face any difficulties with your current workplaces? I know we are meant to be covered if we have an application already submitted but have not received a decision yet, but would love to hear if anyone has had any issues.

The workplaces can use the home office's employer checking service because you are covered under section 3c leave that extends your status while an application is processing. Unfortunately I was made redundant from covid and my visa expired in June, so I won't likely find work until I have a new BRP.

I didn't upload a pdf of my application with my documents. I assumed the home office would have my digital application.

We got one through last night to say they'll reuse the biometrics.

We submitted the documents themselves ("pushed the button") a few days ago, as we had and have nothing to add. It does look like you can still submit more after that.

We did not submit a PDF of the application itself.

I uploaded my documents immediately after I submitted my application (11 June). I did not include a PDF of my application.

Regarding document uploads - I decided to replace my uploads after I realized that the quality of the original scans was too poor. It was tedious, but I'm hoping everything is legible. I would not recommend going with the lowest dpi resolution for scans (I think it was 72dpi).

Like everyone else, I am awaiting instructions on images. (I also received my email informing me I would not have to submit new biometrics.) My visa and original BRP have expired, but I work for a small company that hasn't hassled me, thank goodness.

Has the submit button always been on the UKVCAS website, never noticed it until you all started mentioning it.
Finding this submit button more nerve racking than the submit for the application!

I really don't think it was there, no - it surprised me when I saw it a few days ago. I pushed it in case that was the gatekeeper for the email :)

It was right there at the bottom just as you would go in to upload your documents. Once you've done it, it looks like you can still submit more, but I haven't tried it (I have no more documents to submit :) )

We uploaded all our documents the same day as we submitted the ILR application. There was an upload tab at the top of the UKVCAS site when we registered for an appointment. We did not include a copy of the application form as that was uploaded when you complete the online application. Just hope we hear something soon.

Oh so we never managed to register for an appointment as all the slots were closed. I guess we will spend this weekend uploading the docs anyway
