Spouse Visa Approved, Any Moving Checklists?
« on: July 16, 2020, 03:32:56 PM »
Finally got my application approved after covid delay.

We've made a checklist of our own getting my medical records, mail forwarding service, etc but I tried searching for a checklist going over things you should do while moving, wasn't able to find one.

Any advice? Or links to older topics?

Thank you.

Congratulations!  :)

Keep your US bank accounts and credit cards open.
When you get to the UK sign up with GP, and dentist.
Once you have official mail in your names, open UK bank accounts and get your names on as many bills and statements as possible. Keep all bills coming on paper. You will need these for the next 5 years.
Apply for provisional driving license and get on it right away, it takes a long time to go through the process of getting a full license and you can only drive on a US one for 12 months.
Be aware that US citizens are taxed on their worldwide income even when they are no longer resident in the US.
