FLR (M) Docs Questions
« on: July 19, 2020, 05:19:22 PM »
Hey all! I'll be applying for my next visa end of October and am now gathering the documentation.

My first questions are about the post. I have jointly addressed post for 4 of the 6 dates. I didn't do very well with having things physically mailed in both our names  :-\\\\ I am missing post for Oct. of 2018 and Oct. of 2019 but have jointly addressed bank statements for November of both years. Our statements just happened to fall into that pattern and I was relying on them for this. Would a mention in a letter be ok for this? I also have quite a bit of physical post in our individual names but it doesn't match up exactly to these dates either, just kind of completely random but annoyingly definitely shows what they are wanting to see  ::). Also, would post from 2 different councils (we moved) count as different sources? Again, didn't do very well here! Probably 90% of our physical mail is addressed to "the parent or guardian of"  [smiley=oops.gif]

As for financial, we are using my husband's income to meet the requirement. I plan to print out pay slips and include a letter from his employer assuring their authenticity. We can have them printed and mailed to us by HR but it would be all 6 months at once, would this be better? I don't really get what they want here in regards to physical post vs. printed as evidence.

I have my husband's original employment contract dated August 2018. Do I need an updated version or a letter from employer as well?

Do we need to include his latest p60?

 Thanks in advance as always!

What about using a different pattern of months for the documents?

Could you provide enough documents from these months instead:
July 2018
November 2018
March 2019
July 2019
November 2019
March 2020
Optional extra: July 2020

No, that would just be one source: a government council - doesn't matter that they are different councils, they are still coming from the same type of organisation.

If you have them printed by the employer, they are considered official you don't need the letter to verify them. So, printed and mailed is better for the financial requirement as you don't need them verified.

Same with the bank statements. If they are printed by the bank and/or mailed to you, they are official. If they are printed at home, they need to be stamped on every page by the bank or accompanied by a letter of authenticity.

This is to confirm that you did not tamper with any of them before you printed them.

I would have them mail 7 months of payslips though (and you'll need 7 months of bank statements too), because you MUST cover every single day of the 6 months, and if each payslip is only dated the end of the month, then you need an extra month of payslips and bank statements to cover the rest of the month.

For example, if the latest payslip is dated 30th June, then your 6 months is 30th December to 30th June, so you need the December payslip and bank statement to make sure the days of 30th and 31st of December are covered.

A letter from the employer is absolutely mandatory, regardless, as it must confirm the employment details.

The original 2018 contract and the latest P60 are optional but recommended.

Mandatory documents:
- 6 months of payslips (usually send 7 months)
- 6 months of bank statements showing every payslip (usually send 7 months)
- employer letter stating all of the following:
i) current employment and salary
ii) length of employment
iii) length of time earning current salary
iv) type of employment

Optional but recommended documents:
- original job contract
- latest P60

If the P60 is issued electronically, it will need to be verified in a letter from the employer.

Glad to see you back here @Dani618! If you end up submitting this month, we’ll be on the same timeline again :)

I’m sure you’ll figure out the mail! Maybe make a list of what you’ve got and I’m sure the experts here will help sort out the spacing and what you should include.

Thanks so much @ksand24. I will have another look through all the mail, see what I can come up with and come back to check it's ok. All the rest makes perfect sense and shouldn't be a problem. I think I have everything else but will   certainly ask for a documents check before submitting. Thanks again!!

Hey @FLgator86! That's a great idea and I will definitely do that if I run into issues after a second rummage through the post (which I may very well do)! Probably won't be ready to submit my app till I have to lol, so we'll be a bit apart this time! It's lucky for me though as I'll be able to follow your progress and hopefully get a better idea of how it's going to be. Best of luck again! 🍀

I've had a look through and my original mail pattern is the only option I've got. I don't drive so was never on insurance or vehicle tax stuff, he forgot to add me to gas bill after I (finally) arrived, and the council tax randomly switched off paper statements and took us awhile to notice. That's kind of all the mail we get besides stuff regarding our children (which is unhelpfully not actuallly adressed to us personally).

This is the closest I have:

November 2018 - joint bank statement

February 2019 - joint council tax statement

June 2019 - joint council tax statement

November 2019 - joint bank statement

February 2020 - joint bank statement

June 2020 - Scottish Gas bill - his name
Royal Mail redirect service notice - my name (lists our whole family as having moved together so seems a good piece of evidence?)
Joint council tax statement

I used separate for June 2020 because I didn't have enough sources but could include the joint one too?

I was going for Oct/Feb/June but can't do it. How big of an issue is it that my spacing is 1 month off for two of the pieces of post?

Don't include the joint one - that would give too many documents. Just include the 2 separate ones for June 2020.

It won't be an issue, you just need to include an explanation for why they are from June and not July of each year :).

Hi again everyone! Well, it's time! I've procrastinated a bit lol but am finally going to just do the thing.

I have a couple of questions (naturally).

My husband's (UKC/sponsor) UK passport is expired. Will this be an issue? We were afraid to send it off given the state of things.

Latest bank statement in my possesion only covers until August 19th (next due in November). There have been two months pay deposited since then. Do I need to head to the bank and get the most recent pages printed/stamped? His payslips will be verified by his employer in employment letter.

Also, how long do I have to upload docs from the time I begin the online application?

I think that's all I've got for now 😁 Many thanks in advance!

The sponsor's passport should be current. In view of Covid, they may accept an explanation but I would provide his full birth certificate as well, to be safe.

For the financial requirements, the most recent bank statement, pay slip and the employment letter must all be dated within 28 days of the date of the online application. Either go into the bank or have them send an up to date statement.

Oh dear about the passport. We just sort of weren't thinking about it. I've since realized we didn't have to send it physically anyway 🤦🏼‍♀️ I have his birth cert so hopefully will be ok. Do you think it'd be better to send it off now and state it's not come back yet? Or better to have it in our possesion but expired?

Thanks for the info, I wasn't sure if bank statement was included in the 28 days timeframe.

I've run into a question on the app which has confused me. It asks what type of leave to enter/remain I have and says its stated on the document but both my BRP and vignette state "Spouse/Partner Leave to Enter" as type. Spouse isn't on the list though. Should I select "Other" or "Family" or "Settlement"?

It's quoting up to 4 weeks to renew so it might be just as well to apply now, there's still a chance you'll get it back in time and as you have the birth certificate you should be fine.

Most people put "family".

If the sponsor doesn’t have a valid passport, you are supposed to provide the following documents to prove citizenship instead (from the old paper form):

- his birth certificate

- if he was born after Jan 1st 1983, evidence of his parents’ citizenship at the time of his birth

- one other document showing he is ordinarily resident in the UK
(such as driving licence, evidence of income tax coding, bank statements, or evidence of NI or NHS registration issued by DWP or a local health authority).

Thank you both! Fortunately we have all of that. I've had such an anxious year that I may have dropped the ball a bit by not being better prepared. I had it in my head that I had everything together 😩

I have a few things that will need explaining, the wonky order of my post/mail, the expired passport, and whatever else comes up. Will there be a place to address this on the application or should I write a single letter explaining these issues?

Application question: Is my last visit to the US the day I left to come to the UK (I haven't been back)?

Hi all, just about to submit my application finally but want to check a few things.

Where they ask to list my children's relatives in the UK, do they want names as well as relation?

I've seen several posts stating we'd need to provide letters addressed to our children dated within the last three months but that is not listed on the required documents page or stated anywhere on my application that I can see? Is this only a requirment in certain circumstances? I had to provide their British passport information on the app but have not been instructed to include their passports in documentation either. While I do have their passports, I do not have post for all 3 of my children meeting that criteria 🤨

How long will I have to upload docs post app submission?

Also if there aren't free biometrics appointments available for months, am I allowed to wait for one or is there some reason I should opt to pay?

Btw, thanks for the pasport info, we opted to send it off straight away and will receive the new one tomorrow 👍🏼
