Hey all! I'll be applying for my next visa end of October and am now gathering the documentation.
My first questions are about the post. I have jointly addressed post for 4 of the 6 dates. I didn't do very well with having things physically mailed in both our names
I am missing post for Oct. of 2018 and Oct. of 2019 but have jointly addressed bank statements for November of both years. Our statements just happened to fall into that pattern and I was relying on them for this. Would a mention in a letter be ok for this? I also have quite a bit of physical post in our individual names but it doesn't match up exactly to these dates either, just kind of completely random but annoyingly definitely shows what they are wanting to see
.
What about using a different pattern of months for the documents?
Could you provide enough documents from these months instead:
July 2018
November 2018
March 2019
July 2019
November 2019
March 2020
Optional extra: July 2020
Also, would post from 2 different councils (we moved) count as different sources? Again, didn't do very well here! Probably 90% of our physical mail is addressed to "the parent or guardian of"
No, that would just be one source: a government council - doesn't matter that they are different councils, they are still coming from the same type of organisation.
As for financial, we are using my husband's income to meet the requirement. I plan to print out pay slips and include a letter from his employer assuring their authenticity. We can have them printed and mailed to us by HR but it would be all 6 months at once, would this be better? I don't really get what they want here in regards to physical post vs. printed as evidence.
If you have them printed by the employer, they are considered official you don't need the letter to verify them. So, printed and mailed is better for the financial requirement as you don't need them verified.
Same with the bank statements. If they are printed by the bank and/or mailed to you, they are official. If they are printed at home, they need to be stamped on every page by the bank or accompanied by a letter of authenticity.
This is to confirm that you did not tamper with any of them before you printed them.
I would have them mail 7 months of payslips though (and you'll need 7 months of bank statements too), because you MUST cover every single day of the 6 months, and if each payslip is only dated the end of the month, then you need an extra month of payslips and bank statements to cover the rest of the month.
For example, if the latest payslip is dated 30th June, then your 6 months is 30th December to 30th June, so you need the December payslip and bank statement to make sure the days of 30th and 31st of December are covered.
I have my husband's original employment contract dated August 2018. Do I need an updated version or a letter from employer as well?
Do we need to include his latest p60?
A letter from the employer is absolutely mandatory, regardless, as it must confirm the employment details.
The original 2018 contract and the latest P60 are optional but recommended.
Mandatory documents:
- 6 months of payslips (usually send 7 months)
- 6 months of bank statements showing every payslip (usually send 7 months)
- employer letter stating all of the following:
i) current employment and salary
ii) length of employment
iii) length of time earning current salary
iv) type of employment
Optional but recommended documents:
- original job contract
- latest P60
If the P60 is issued electronically, it will need to be verified in a letter from the employer.
