Hi all,
Some background info to start. My current visa FLR(M) expired in mid-April, I made my application for ILR and paid my fee in late March. Due to COVID, the local biometric appointments have not opened up yet (Reading), but should this week (supposedly). Will I be penalized in any way for waiting this long for a closer, in terms of distance, appointment?
No, you will not be penalised.
In fact, you should have received an email from UKVI several weeks ago telling you whether or not you are still required to attend an appointment or if your biometrics are being waived.... because they are allowing eligible applicants to reuse biometrics from their previous applications and to just send an up-to-date photo electronically... so that they do not need to attend an appointment at all.
Since you applied in March, you should have been contacted by UKVI back in May or June, I think, since they are working through them in application date order and are up to the June and July applications now.
Have you checked your email Inbox and Spam folders to see if you have received these emails?
For the proof of address documents, I remember for my FLR(M) visa I could use a combination of 6 documents that were in my name only and jointly with my wife. Is that still the case or do they all have to be joint? With these documents, it should be something from about every 5 months. What kind of tolerance do I have around that +/- a month? I also moved 3 months after my second round of FLR(M), should I include a document from each address for that time period?
Didn't you already sort all these documents out before you applied in March? All your documents should have been prepared before you applied online. You've had since March to upload them to UKVCAS (if self-uploading).
You will need 1 document in each name (either joint or separately addressed) from each of the following months. They must be from at least 3 different official sources and if separately addressed, should be dated within a few days/couple of weeks of each other:
September 2018
February 2018
July 2018
December 2018
May 2019
October 2019
March 2020
You can be a little bit flexible, but only by a few days or weeks. Or you could adjust the months slightly.
You just need to provide a document from whichever address you were living at in each of the above months. There is no requirement to show a document from every address you lived at unless documents at each address happen to fall in those months.
