Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK here. Glad to have more than 1 food swap buddy, but can see it's probably not necessary!

OMG!   :o

I feel so BAD.  I've been so busy today, and I'm just reading through the new posts!

This is very exciting, though.  What I need to do is read through this thoroughly, and we'll re-do the draw.

I'm so glad that we have a few more people from the US side, so more people can participate.

So, if everybody is ok, I'll put the names back into the hat in the morning (Chicago time) and have my son draw them again.  (He's in bed right now!!!!)

Thanks so much everybody for your interest!  I think it's going to be really great having a foodie friends!!!!!!

 :D

Also Europin said they wouldn't mind 2 buddies-- that should allow all to participate if my figuring is correct.

As Ive got it:

USA

1.MarsBar (me)
2.Kellie (you)
3.Peach
4.Europe
5.Saf

UK

1.Stacey
2.Kiin
3.HG
4.Maddie
5.Pebbles
6.Belinda
7.Muse

Both you, me, peach, and europe have stated they would take 2 buddies so... I suggest doing a primary draw, one name each in the hat. Then whomever is left on the UK side, add my name, yours, peach's and euope's again and finish off the UK side. whaddaya think?

looks like only 2 of us will need to double up for this run.

I think the names on the list right now should signal the end for this session and all other interest declared will go on to the next session.

Good morning (afternoon) Foodies!  I have the new draw.

Mars Bar, thanks for your help.  (I had a busy day yesterday, running around to prepare for Chicago's latest snowfall.   We had 7+" last night, and it's still snowing....)

And, Saf's in the US????    [smiley=confused.gif]  What rock have I been living under?  But this is great because everybody can participate this round.  If more people want to join, they can be part of group 2 as Mars Bars suggested.

Thanks to my son, here is the new draw:

Mars Bar
HG
Belindaloo

Kellie
Staceyj7
Pebbles

PeachbytheBeach
Muse

Europein 2005
Maddierose

Saf
Kiin

So, we can pm our Foodie Friends and get the packages ready for delivery first week of February!   :D

Thanks EVERYBODY for participating and helping out in starting what I hope will be a really fun activity!

Hi Pebbles,

no we can only get the powdered or the packets-no tablets in the US  :(

they're so convenient to carry with me and have no carbs at all - the powder has some. not a lot, but I take everything sooooo sweet  :-[  that it adds up. the tablets dissolve better as well.

my diabetic husband wants splenda tablets and galaxy bars lol i guess he figures the splenda will cancel out the sugar in the chocolate. ;)

Well all the tablets I have tried taste awful. That saccarin (sp?) taste. Maybe Ill try the Splenda tabs next time. Im always low carbing and drink way too much coffee with splenda.

How are you all doing with your lists?!?! I just sent mine off to my buddy--- I am very much looking forward to this, I think it will be fun to buy and to receive. We might each find hidden treasures in the country we are in when we see what our buddy is craving!!

Im cool with the names out of hats idea :)

What about $30. At the current exchange rate thats £16. And that would include shipping as well. It seems like a good number to choose but food can get very heavy and even small values of food can cost mucho grande to send. So in any case everyone should be very carefull when they go out shopping not to spend like £13 on food and leave £3 for shipping because £13 of food can be a lot. Thats even more important for us american buddies because $25 worth of food can be very very heavy, especially if youre sending thinks like cans of soup (for instance Campbells Golden Mushroom) which is at MOST a dolllar, but it weights a ton.

I think this is going to require a bit of practice.
Here is what was decided about the amount to spend
