Is anyone else having issues uploading documents from the external files section? They're all under 6MB but each time I try to upload it fails and even hitting retry doesn't work.

Not personally but I have seen on other forums people having issues uploading.

You could try uploading to the UKVCAS website and see if they carry over to the app? I had already completed the upload before being invited to the app and all of the documents were there.

Due to my job, I subscribe to the GOV.UK's press release service. Today I received a notice requesting input from anyone who has used the UKVI's services. Here is the release: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/call-for-evidence-an-inspection-of-ukvis-front-end-services

Feel free to pass it along to anyone who would like to help these guys improve the service.

Has anyone who was still waiting received an invite over the last few days? With the deadline approaching and a lot of people still waiting who applied up to 31 July it’s been oddly quiet on all the forums I follow.

No invite yet for me. My husband and I are going to draft a letter to our MP sometime Monday if nothing has arrived by then.

One thing is for sure - I am booking an appointment the moment I get that invite. Had enough of the app.

I'm wondering why we haven't heard of any approvals coming back from the app yet. It's been in operation about a month, right? I haven't heard of any, at least, so don't know if there is news coming in on other platforms (this is the only forum I check).

I have seen about 2 or 3 approvals after using the app. All were Naturalisation or ILR. All from other forums, took about 2 weeks. Those applicants were from April and were part of the first batch when the app launched.

Normal processing times are 8 weeks from biometrics (in this case, that would be from using the app), but we don't know how long things are taking right now - as mentioned above, a couple of people have received their visas quickly, but we have no idea if that will continue.

In a normal year, UKVI processes 120,000 to 150,000 in-country applications between April and September (Q2 and Q3 of the year), but they have processed almost no applications in the same timeframe this year.... therefore, assuming a similar number of people have applied in the last 6 months as would usually apply, there could be a backlog of up to 150,000 applications.

Having said that, UKVI actually processed 126,231 in-country applications in the first 3 months of 2020 (before Covid), so if that number of applications is similar for Q2 and Q3 (and it could be the case, since there were extra allowances made in terms of being able to apply), we could be looking at up to 250,000 applications waiting to be processed right now.

I received my invite to use the app last night. It arrived little past 11pm. I was a little surprised it arrived that late. I am also surprised I even got it this soon as I was expected it more towards the 14th of September, definitely did not expect it before the 7th of September as I only just applied on the 10th of August.

I just got done doing the id verification. Found the liveliness part a little odd. I barely moved my head before it was asking me to move it another direction. It accepted my liveliness in what seemed like seconds.

I had previously uploaded my documents through their website so I have no experience on uploading through the app. My only small issue with it is there is a limit on how long you can see the file name on the app versus their website. I discovered the name length issue as I was triple checking what I had uploaded already and made sure it was all there, which is was.

Hello Everyone,

Hope all are doing fine.

Just a qq, if anyone could answer please  -  I have seen people are getting the IDV App invites from last 2-3 weeks or so , just wanted to know anyone has got any decision yet who submitted their photos & documents via app & not via the appointment.

Regards
S

I applied 16 June and didn’t even receive an invite. Today is apparently the deadline, but I have no faith in that.

I sent UKVCAS a dm on Twitter today - which let’s be honest - I shouldn’t need to do but here we are. 😔

I wouldn't worry about the deadline... it's not your fault if you cannot physically meet it because of Covid delays.

To be honest, I don't actually believe the deadline exists in the current situation - it's probably something that was added to the application without considering Covid, and it likely doesn't currently apply.

All UKVI can do right now is send the emails and process the applications as quickly as they can, and all you can do is wait until you are invited to book an appointment, regardless of when that happens.

There are people who applied 4-5 months ago who still haven't been able to submit biometrics yet and there's no issue regarding deadlines for them.

Just a (non-)update.

I applied for FLR(M) 29th March.
Received app invitation 21st August.
Submitted 22nd August.

I haven’t heard back from them yet about anything, so everyone don’t worry so much! My friggin March application is still hanging in the air...

Hello all!

I applied 8 July and received my invited today (7 September) around 7:00p. Immediately submitted.

I had previously uploaded all of my docs when I submitted my app so it was just the picture part for me.

Fingers crossed it goes smoothly and I can breathe away some of this visa anxiety and resume normal everyday 2020 anxiety.
