IDV App Info - for Applications Reusing Biometrics

Just came across another forum and saw this...

I have no clue how accurate this is but it’s a little soul destroying, if we knew this at the time we would have opted out.

Given how inept the government is with all things technology related, it is not surprising at all. Definitely working on the MP letter.

Starting to wonder can we opt out now, but wouldn’t want to confuse the whole system 

The honest truth is that nobody knows when the app is going to be ready, only those behind it will know.

There is no transparency which has led to mass confusion, the least they can do is be upfront with the applicants who have spent a large amount of money.

Nothing. I wrote to my MP last night to tell them how the lack of communication and lack of real timelines has impacted my mental health, and how upsetting it is that the people who opted out have scheduled biometrics for early September. I encourage others to do the same, the home office needs to hold Sopra Steria accountable.

Phoned UKVCAS this morning, just to see if could get any information out of them regarding the app, all they said “it will be very soon, can’t tell you a specific date” I did voice my opinion to the lady on the other end of the line, how there email was very misinforming as they said it was being rolled out at the start of August. All she could advise was to phone the home office and see if they are able to give any additional information.

Don't bother ringing them and wasting your money. Those people on the other end of the phone do not have the answers you are all looking for. Ringing the home office won't be helpful either.

MP's are the only people who will be able to get real answers. In the great English tradition of strongly worded letters, I encourage contacting yours as well.

If anyone goes down the MP route, which I would recommend to everyone then do let us know if you receive any replies back from the MP or anyone else.

Some good news - the app has appeared on Google Play Store.

It takes a while for an app to appear on the App Store than it does on Play Store.
