IDV App Info - for Applications Reusing Biometrics

Thanks all so much for your responses, I am glad to hear I am not alone and that several of us have not received any correspondence, even a generic email. I also really appreciate you sharing the reddit threads you are following and the fact that you have indeed seen some decisions come through those that have applied with the app.

While it's a relief, I still recognize the immense stress this is putting on each and every one of us. This site in general is a great community, and this thread has really been helping me to not feel alone and like I am drowning in all of this. Thanks everyone for your candor!

Hey guys! I just got an email about a week ago inviting me to use the app for biometrics, but have been moving house so haven't really had the time to look into it until now. My BRP doesn't expire until December, I'm having a baby in November, and have no plans whatsoever to travel between now and probably March of next year (if we even CAN travel then). With this in mind, I'm probably safe to go ahead and use the app for my biometrics, right? I don't really want to be traveling 60 miles for an in-person appointment while I'm 8 months pregnant.

Quick question to anyone who’s using the app .. what travel documents do you take a picture of ? Is it your Passport or BRP ?

From looking through some reddit threads and other forums, I'm seeing a bit of a pattern for decision timelines emerging for different types of visa applications.

For FLR(M)/SET(M), those providing in-person biometrics appear to be receiving decisions in 1-2 weeks. Those submitting through the IDV app appear to be receiving decisions in 4-5 weeks after uploading their photo/ID check. This is a very small sample size so I could be way off base, especially as the volume of IDV submissions ramped up.

That said, I'm hoping this means I'll be hearing something around the end of next week or the following week. Hang in there everyone!

I attended an in person biometrics on September 10 and have yet to hear anything. I was invited to use the app on September 7 and decided against it.

I submitted my application online on April 15, and completed via the app on August 25.
That puts me at 5 1/2 weeks since doing the app.... not to mention almost 5 1/2 months since the original online submission.
Still have not heard a word.
It would be great to see a breakthrough soon!

@TwoWool me too! I'm probably just clutching at straws here, trying to make some sense out of these timelines. This was just from a few dozen responses out of what most likely amounts to tens of thousands of applicants that are still waiting.

@emma5jay5 wow APRIL?? Can't imagine how frustrated you must be with this situation. It's unconscionable that they're not giving decisions to people that have applied in April/May before they even start to look at more recent ones.

I saw a post from someone on Reddit who applied for a FLR(M) extension on 3 Sep and received their BRP on 30 Sep after completing in-person biometrics. I'm sure that's probably an exceptional case but just can't understand how that can happen when they claimed they'd be processing things in order of submission date.

It seems they are trying to improve their stats so those of us from early in lockdown are just stuck waiting forever. I've seen IDV app approvals for people who applied in July for FLR(M) in other places. If they don't give us an update soon I'm going to be contacting a human rights lawyer for a consultation.
