Fantastic news! I received my notice of acceptance yesterday! I actually started crying it was so emotional and stressful. I ran into the bedroom to tell my sleepy husband, he got really upset because he thought there was bad news. NO, all good!

Mine was for ILR-M, I applied on May 14th on the website and used the app on Aug.27th if that helps anyone.
Good luck everyone!

I have a question, I want to immediately start working on Dual Citizenship and have searched the forum before but always get threads from years and years ago. How do I find current threads about it so I can get some help? I've read through the booklet they have online and already feel a bit confused...referees? who and why? Evidence of ILR, is that just the email? and am I going for "AN Naturalization"? You see?  Please advise anyone, I don't want to get scolded for starting new threads that clog things up.

Yay Mary, you did it!  ;D [smiley=balloon.gif]

Just go ahead and start a thread with your citizenship questions.  :)

You need to use the advanced search function otherwise you'll get results from 2007!  It's just below the regular search bar.

Congrats on completing ILR!  You're officially no longer subject to immigration control!  (Magical phrase that makes life so much better!)

Do start a thread to get your "AN Naturalization" (that's the correct thing for citizenship) questions answered!  We'd only scold you if you started three threads about your citizenship application.  ;)

Member "biscuits" is just completing their citizenship application now, and so they will be freshest with information.  Their thread is among the most recent ones in this forum.  You should have your own thread for your questions and advice, but see if any information in their thread can get you started.

(Proof of your ILR will be the new BRP you should receive shortly.  Referees are people who have known you for at least 3 years, one or both of whom must be a UK citizen, one or both must be of professional standing, neither of them can be related to you or each other, and some other requirements.  They just fill out a form to say how they know you and that, as far as they know, there's nothing about you that makes you unworthy of being a citizen of the UK.)
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

Hi all,

I have received an email from Home Office on 16th Oct that my application for ILR has been granted!
I am sooooo relieved, thank you so much everyone! I couldn't go through without this community.

It was quite an interesting experience on 16th because I called Home Office in the morning if I can get any update on my application, which they said nothing they can provide me. After a few hours later I got the email saying my application is successful!! I don't know if it was a coincidence...
but, really happy with the result...

Now, I am waiting for my BRP card. Unfortunately, my new address wasn't updated on Home Office system although I did let them know through an online forum as their website suggests. I would need to speak to the courier about how I can rearrange my delivery to my new address..

History
ILR Online Application: July 25, 2020
Biometrics app invite: Aug 30, 2020
Biometrics app completed: Aug 31, 2020
Called Home Office: Oct 16, 2020
ILR Approved email: Oct 16, 2020
BRP delivery: waiting

Congratulations to the recent people with decisions!

It seems like there is a good pace being picked up! Maybe the caseworkers are wary that it's Christmas soon & want to get as much done as possible.

Oh, we can wish!

Thank you so much to "larrabee" and "jfkimberly" for your feedback!  :) I'll try to find and use that advanced search, drives me crazy to only get old posts! I guess you have to be on the start page of the general forum to find this other search bar. I like to read up as much as I can and get more familiar with things before I start asking for help, starting with posts from "biscuits" sounds like a good idea!  ;)

Referees may take some thinking, we live pretty quietly but I'm sure I can think of a few people, it's the 'professional' label that can be a problem, not everybody has a labeled career job.

Hopefully more people will get results this week!
Cheers!

I did a search and found the reference guide we used historically as some examples (not an exhaustive list!) of acceptable professional referees.

I think both referees can be teachers, because the rules are:

- One must be a person of any nationality who has professional standing

- One must be a holder of a British passport who is either a professional person or over the age of 25

So, you should be able to use one teacher for each referee.

In regards to civil servants, the list of acceptable professionals says 'Civil Servant (Permanent)' which implies they would need to be permanently employed at the time of providing the reference: https://www.gov.im/media/624353/listofreferees.pdf

Hi all

Congratulations to all those who have received their approvals!! It’s good that some are coming through.

Personally we are still left waiting here.

For anyone who has received an acceptance email, from what account did it come from?

Just a little worried that an email may have been missed. Is email the only way they contact you if something is missing from the evidence?

Mine came from this address:

UKVISETM@homeoffice.gov.uk

I applied for ILR SET M, so this email is specifically for that. Maybe there are different emails for different departments pertaining to what type of visa you're applying for.

Hope you get your decision soon!

Cant wait to be at the ILR part because then that will be the end of immigration finally after so many years!

Just out of curiosity has anyone applying for FLRM heard back that have used the app? I think I will be calling head office tomorrow as its gone over 8 weeks since biometrics and I dont know what else to do I have been waiting patiently hoping to hear but still nothing...
