Hi everyone,

Just want to let you know that I finally received my BRP last Wednesday, Oct 21. Its just a delayed post due to some tech issue at home.

Received an intercom call after lunch that day. It was delivered and handed personally by a courier fellow, didn't sign anything nor asked for ID - he just asked my name and apartment number.

The new BRP, since I opted for the re use has my previous photo not the one taken on the app.

Old BRP expiry: Sept 13, 2020

New BRP valid from: Oct. 15, 2020
Valid until: May 11, 2023

As per my calculation, my new BRP is valid for 30 months and 26 days.

One question, when can I start applying for ILR? I would like to prep my correspondence in advance so less worry come 2023.

Thanks and good luck to all.

When you can apply for ILR will depend on exactly which date you first entered the U.K. on your spousal visa. You can apply 28 days before you reach 5 years in the UK.

I see from your previous posts that you arrived in the UK on 20th December 2017... so you will reach 5 years on 20th December 2022.

That means you can apply for ILR any time between 22nd November 2022 and the expiry date of your FLR(M) (11th May 2023).

For the ILR correspondence, you will need to cover 2.5 years rather than 2 years so the documents will need to be spaced every 5 months.

Mine came from this address:

UKVISETM@homeoffice.gov.uk

I applied for ILR SET M, so this email is specifically for that. Maybe there are different emails for different departments pertaining to what type of visa you're applying for.

Hope you get your decision soon!

Many thanks!

This is exactly what we are applying for so hopefully we will receive an approval email from them shortly.

Fingers and toes crossed!

Just out of curiosity has anyone applying for FLRM heard back that have used the app? I think I will be calling head office tomorrow as its gone over 8 weeks since biometrics and I dont know what else to do I have been waiting patiently hoping to hear but still nothing...

Did you go over the 8 weeks from when you submitted via the app? It will be 9 weeks since biometrics for me on Thursday and I am getting really nervous I will never hear back at this rate I applied in May.

Thank you so much @ksand24 for your response. Can I open a new topic for this as I have few more clarifications, don't want to have this thread be mixed with future application info.

Thanks,

Jay

I have spoken with the UKVI Coronavirus helpline today and they didn’t say much other than applications are assigned to different case workers and some case workers are getting through applications quicker than others.

They said there is nothing more that can be done and to just wait it out.

Today marks 9 weeks since I uploaded my biometrics through the IDV APP, still no e-mails too. Not even the one some people received about taking it longer to process. At least I am not alone.

I already escalated my case twice by calling. The first time I was told to call again if I didn't hear anything back within 10 working days. After the time passed, I called again last Friday and was told to wait 10 more days.

It has been 9 weeks now, so over the 8 weeks usual deadline  :(

I have a work colleague that applied way after I did and they got their results within 2-3 weeks. (I applied back in April with biometrics sent August 25th, they applied in July with Biometrics sent in September).

This makes me so anxious and stressed. I don't know what to do anymore.

Yea I understand I have been trying to wrap my head around their process but the only conclusion I can come to is what was stated above how different case workers move faster than others. I really want to call to find out what is happening with my case if they at least received everything but everyone who calls states what you said among other things and still have no result so I dont know if its actually worth it or if I should just keep holding on even though its killing me and I just want to know already.

I have a feeling everyone who applied early in the pandemic has been assigned at the end of the line. They don't care that it is destroying our mental health.

I also feel that because they have new applications coming through every day, these will take priority over ours which are now at the bottom of the pile... Because they already let us down, there will be no rush to redeem any of that anymore.

I have been checking my e-mails every day constantly for the past month and with every day that passes, the anxiety gets even worse.

I know it sounds silly, but I've been struggling to eat too because I've been under so much stress over this that I just can't eat. :(

I don't think the escalating process works either, I reckon it's just a way to tell you to wait more and to make it look like something is being done about it.

Ringing up and escalating it and following their advice they give you over the phone is a waste of time. Unless you have a inside person at the Home Office, you will all just have to keep on waiting and praying that you get a decision made email come through.

That's the bottom line, as harsh as it may sound, that's the reality. COVID19 has screwed up what was a flawed process - hang in there, you will hear back from them! Stay positive, look after each other and look after your health.
