I am pretty sure we won't hear soon with the visa outcome.

Can you please advise i need to travel out the country for emergency reasons work are not allowing me.

If i was to leave my job will it affect the visa?

Are you the applicant or the UK sponsor?

If you are the sponsor, you should be able to travel in and out of the UK while the visa is processing without an issue (as long as the travel is allowed by the government during the lockdown).

However, the applicant cannot leave the UK while the visa is processing because if they do, their Section 3C Leave will become invalid. This means that they will no longer have the right to live or work in the UK and will not be allowed back in. So, the applicant would have to return to their home country to apply for a new spousal visa, before they could come back.

If your income is the one you are relying on to meet the requirements, then if you leave the job, you will no longer qualify for the visa, and it can be refused.

Yes, they have the ability to contact home office for the approval under compassionate circumstances. It's not a guarantee but I would definitely try. I'm so sorry you're in such a bind. :(

Lovely surprise this morning when OUR VISA WAS GRANTED!!

We applied on Aug 9 and submitted biometrics through the IDV App on Sept 9. (We had the paperwork loaded prior to the 9th.) I was nervous, since we're both self-employed, but no hoops to jump through or extra paperwork requested. :)

Best wishes to all of you still waiting. It's coming!

Congrats TM Sutton on your email approval! Always happy to see forum members approved.
We applied online on April 15 and did the app on Aug 25. Still no email. :(
Just wondering... how many March and April folks are still out there in the wilderness with us?

Emma5jay5  - we have an almost identical timeline.  Applied April 16, did the app on Aug 25th.  Finally called them on Oct 29th so hopefully we will hear shortly.

Hi all, posting on this thread as I'll be joining the queue from tomorrow (that's the plan anyway)! Does anyone have recommendations on using the app or an in person appointment for biometrics? I don't own a scanner so I'd like to use the scanning services but I'll buy a scanner if it means results might come faster. Also, does anyone know if lockdown starting Thursday will mean that in person appointments will no longer be running? In which case, app might be my best choice?

It’s not possible to use the app anymore - they stopped new applicants using it back in September as normal services resumed.

So, all applicants must attend a biometrics appointment now.

Besides, attending an appointment seems to have meant faster decisions than using the app anyway.

No, the UKVCAS website states that they have been deemed an ‘Essential Service’ so appointments will continue as normal during the lockdown.

I have just tried calling the phone number to see about gettin my case escalated as its been over 23 weeks since I applied and 10 weeks tomorrow from submitting via the IDV app. The gentleman on the phone informed me they are no longer allowing anyone to escalate their case and said you should hear back in 10 weeks from biometrics. For me 10 weeks is tomorrow and he told me I still need to wait and that is all I can do.

Has anyone else been told the same? I am starting to really have a hard time with this waiting game so far I have had a headache everyday for almost 2 weeks from stressing
