Well some more good news. My son has been approved for the extension on the FLR(M). Hooray! But...
Weirdly, the decision for me was not in the email attachment.

A happy update:
I phoned the 0300 790 6268 that movilla had posted for some insight on the email. They were of the opinion it was a clerical error and that I should maybe reach out to an immigration advisor if I didn't receive my BRP along with my son's.
Hearing that it might have been a clerical error gave me just enough of a push to take a chance and write an email to the individual caseworker (who had asked for additional documentation earlier in the week), asking politely to kindly advise if able and to just ignore my email otherwise. Happily, the caseworker wrote back fairly quickly.
While it was short and perhaps a bit curt, the caseworker confirmed that my son and I were both approved. What a relief!

Some good news finally in this PIA of a year. My FLR(M) was approved. Whew! Got the email yesterday. It was a pleasant surprise as I was beginning to think I wouldn't see it before January at this point. Thank you for your help, advice and patience about my application questions (many of which were probably stupid and paranoid!).

For reference, my dates were:

Application: 17 July 2020
Invitation to use IDV app: 8 September 2020
Documents and photo submitted: 10 September 2020
Approval email: 8 December 2020

For those of you still waiting to hear, hang in there and fingers crossed you will hear good news soon!

Awesome - congratulations! I submitted mine a week after yours and my IDV submission was about the same... hoping that means I’m not too far behind you!

Easy does it! Now make sure you keep that in a safe place.

We received our new BRPs today, two business days after our approval email.

The courier said that, until Friday last, they had been able to post them through the door without identification but now are required to see it.

Thank you again for all of your valuable help and insights, and happy Christmas.

At this point, I am really losing all my hopes.

Applied in April, biometrics done in August and still haven't heard anything back from HO. Already called and escalated several times, sent e-mails, sent an e-mail to my MP end of November (who said they sent an email to HO regarding my visa) and still no replies.

I just want to be able to spend Christmas with my family without worrying. In January we need to renew our mortgage and the bank wants to see the valid BRP and I just don't know what to do anymore.

I was just going to post the same thing I applied in March and did biometrics in August. Sent a letter to my MP 2 weeks ago and he’s sent a letter to HO. I feel like I’m just going in circles at this point. Where exactly are our applications?? People that did biometrics in sept/oct are getting decisions now!!! There has to be a way to solve this as we’ve been out in the dark for way to long!!!!

Go back and do it all again, call the phone line, contact the MP. Good luck.
