That's correct.

All ILR BRPs (and any non-ILR BRPs valid more than 4 years) are now issued to expire 31st December 2024, because that's when new EU regulations come in regarding the encryption technology to be used in them. So, they will all need to be be reissued with the new technology by the end of 2024.

If your BRP expires on 31 December 2024
You do not need to tell UKVI if your BRP expires on 31 December 2024 but you have leave to stay longer.

UKVI will update their information on how to update your BRP in early 2024. You do not need to do anything and your immigration status will not be affected.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to say that today I got my approval by email for my third FLRM visa ( next one will be ILR yayyy!) I went in person to have my documents scanned and my photo was taken for my BPR  25 Oct 2020.  I hope this helps anyone who is waiting for approval during lockdown! I did not do anything special except having my documents scanned at the appointment. Special meaning paying for an expedited review or anything else.

Date of ILR (SET M) Application: 8 January 2021
Date Biometrics Enrolled: 17 January 2021 (in-person appointment in Croydon)
Decision Letter Received: Pending
Date BRP Arrived: Pending
