ILR Set M Timeline
« on: September 23, 2020, 02:04:10 PM »
Hiya, I am trying to work out the date I can apply for ILR.

Can someone please confirm that my 60 months is up on 24th October 2020 as I assume? My timeline is below:

Early February 2015: Entered UK on Tier 5 Visa (Internship visa)

24 October 2015: I had an in person appt to move to FLR(M). I received my BRP a few weeks later and the start date was 24 Oct 2020 on my BRP.

Thanks!!!

Yes, you can apply from 28 days before 24th October 2020 until your BRP expires.

Thanks so much!

Just wanted to check as most of the post I see are entry days from when they land in the UK rather than already being the UK when they start a visa!  :)

The reason for that is because it depends what visa you entered the UK on as to when your 5 years to ILR starts.

- For people who apply directly for a spousal visa from outside the UK, their 5 years starts on the day they arrive in the UK.

- For people who come to the UK on a different type of visa (fiance visa, Tier 2 work visa, Tier 4 student visa or Tier 5 visa) and then switch to FLR(M), their 5 years starts on the date they are issued their first FLR(M).

Oh we are an almost identical timelines! I switched from Tier 4 to FLR on 22/10/2015 and I’m applying for ILR on Friday. Have you decided whether you’ll use the app for biometrics?

Ah, only two days apart - good luck with your application!

I would like to use the app as my nearest appointment centre is a pain to get to. I have heard though that an appt. is the quickest route currently. What about you?

The UKVI website put an update out this week saying they are going to be back to normal in next few days where you can book an appointment right after you apply rather than waiting for an email invite to book. I wonder if the app will continue!?

Yes it all seems very up in the air at the moment!

I live in Cardiff very close to the core centre here so I may do in the appointment rather than the app if I am given the choice, on the off chance it does mean I get a faster decision.

I’ll let you know what options I am given (if any) after I submit online tomorrow!

I’ve booked an appointment for 7/10 so we’ll see how it goes!  As soon as I submitted it gave me the option to book an appointment so I went ahead. It wasn’t a free appointment though.

Currently trying to upload my docs but it seems the website has gone down!

Glad you got an appt so soon! I did read this morning that they are no longer using the app except for Tier 4 visas!

So annoying about the webpage - hopefully it's back up soon

It went back up pretty quickly so I’m all done now! Fingers crossed our waits aren’t too long!

Hiya - quick question for you!

Can I please double check that you used the Set M Form? I noticed that the only options under:

In which category are you applying for indefinite leave to remain?

The only answer for partner on 5 year is:

Partner of a person present and settled in the UK - 5-year route

However, my partner is a citizen, not settled! Can I ask what you choose if your partner was a citizen?

Thanks!

A UK citizen is someone who is present and settled in the UK.

Present = they are currently living in the UK or are returning to live in the UK

Settled = they have the right to live in the UK without restriction (I.e. they either hold UK citizenship or ILR)

So you have the correct form and option.

Thank you!

Sorry, one more!

Do I need to disclose a driving with a telephone ticket I got when I was like 17 years old? I think I also got caught running a stop sign at 16 but really can't remember! I noticed on my last FLRM extension document I didn't put either of them. Did i make a mistake there?
