My husband has had his (autoimmune).

With the latest paranoia, I wish I could sign up for a cancellation list.  But I think AZ lasts longer once opened so likely not any waste.

I read that in a hurry and thought you wanted to cancel yours... happy I was wrong.  ;D

Congratulations to Mr Dancer.  :D

Have you tried asking your GP to see if they do have a list that they could put you on?

Getting my jab on Saturday (underlying conditions). Our health board has mandated all first doses from now forward are AZ ones, so that's that. Jab me up!  ;D ;D

I think they might be getting to the end of the supply of Pfizer.  In the Cardiff region, someone I know was given Pfizer for her first dose, about a few weeks before I got mine.  She went in yesterday for her second dose, five weeks earlier than expected.  Apparently, they're moving up second doses of Pfizer in the Cardiff area for everybody who had it for their first dose because they want to ensure they have enough Pfizer to give to people who started on that one.

When I got my first dose of Pfizer 4+ weeks ago, they didn't put a return date on my vaccination card, so I'm going to phone next week (my husband took my car in for MOT this week, so it has to quarantine) to find out when I should come back for the second jab.  I'm hoping they'll say, "Oh, yeah, come on in... we'll just take care of that now" and then I can be done.

Definitely!  Everyone I know received their second date when they got their first.  Granted, you are the only one I know in Wales.

One of my friends who had her first jab shortly before mine had her card filled in with the month and year she should come back, but they left the actual date blank.  So when mine wasn't filled in at all, I just assumed my health board would sort it out when the time came.  But now I'm starting to get antsy.  I don't want to have mismatched vaccines, and I was right at the very end of the "all of Group 4 by February 15th" goal.

Yay! I had mine on Monday. Yesterday was rough, needed anti nausea meds and could barely eat anything and had a killer headache all day. Woke up today feeling almost normal again. At first it was just like a typical bad day for me, but as the day went on it got a lot worse. I've heard AZ tends to have more side effects on the first shot, while Pfizer is worse on the second. But I'm grateful it means my immune system did something! My husband was feeling rough within hours of his and for about 24 hours too.

So pleased for you Margo, hopefully the after effects will soon pass.

My sister has Lupus and when she caught Covid the week before Christmas I feared the worst but although  she was very sick with Covid she had no Lupus flare up. She got her Pfizer jab exactly 3 weeks ago, no problems until 10 days after the jab when she had a really bad Lupus flare up which is only just settling down now. She called 911 and a doctor called her back. He was at first surprised that the reaction had happened after 10 days as it normally takes 2 to 3 weeks for the antibodies to build up and possibly cause an autoimmune reaction but once she told him that she had Covid over Christmas he said that explained it because she would already have had antibodies in her system before the jab caused a further surge.

Yeah, it caused a relapse for a few friends with autoimmunes as well in the weeks after the shot. And shingles. But, so did covid itself so I don't think that's a reason to skip the vaccine. I haven't been diagnosed with an autoimmune, but currently going through more testing because of new issues that are seeming like psoriatic arthritis. Really hoping I don't end up with more pain over the next few weeks!

I was worried about anaphylaxis, I took antihistamines an hour ahead of time and ended up with puffy lips and hives but that was as far as it went so I was happy.

I actually spoke too soon. I have "idiopathic urticaria" (everything causes hives & worse sometimes) and its caused a massive flare that started 3 days after. As long as it doesn't impact breathing I'm fine, just itchy, but GP said to have a low threshold for going to A&E over the next few days.
