It’s the burning question.
However this is interesting too, but don’t know how folks behaved after getting vaccinated:

Keeping your son in my thoughts Durhamlad. I hope the less invasive option works. Keeping everything crossed. I'm so sorry you can't be there with him.

How are you feeling today @Nan D.?

A very good friend of mine in the US was having a very rough time with her health and addiction, and lost that battle last week but I just found out yesterday. I'm still besides myself and having a hard time processing it. So ready for this to be over and able to hug people again.

We had a phone conversation with him this morning and he said they were going to intubate him within the hour. We called the ICU at 11 and spoke to the doctor who confirmed that he is now on a ventilator and they are in the process of putting a line into his neck to put the medication he will need to maintain the medical coma.

We will call a couple of times a day to see how he fared overnight and to get the plan for the day. The doctor warned us that the situation can change dramatically up or down by the day, or even by the hour.  So now we wait.

Oh, gosh. So sorry it's come to this. Hopefully he will benefit from the treatment. Many people do.

Thanks so much folks, and for the offers of help.

My wife, like me, is finding it really hard, but at least we can hug and cry together. Our talk on the phone this morning was really difficult, particularly knowing that it might be our last. (The odds aren't good from this point on)

Not much of a poster on here but wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you, your wife and your son from Liverpool, with positive thoughts and that the hospital is throwing everything at him they've learned over the year.  I'm not a believer myself but my Catholic sister in Kansas is ON IT, so there are some prayers beaming in from Shawnee, KS.

Really hoping for the best.

Do try to look after yourselves too. I imagine eating and sleeping are going by the wayside at the moment but at least try to keep hydrated. And rest your bodies, even if you can't sleep.

I am so sorry.  I know your son is in excellent hands and will get the best care.  Please let us know what we can do for you and your wife while you wait through this.
