Nothing worse than actual trousers and bras. Can we trade and wear a face mask and ditch the bra?  PLEASE?!?!

I honestly think that the country needs to go into lockdown again and then sort this test and trace system out.

Just imposing Tier 3 lockdown on different towns/regions is not going to be enough to slow the spread of this deadly virus.

Wales has just announced a full lockdown starting on Friday so that should be a good test case on how well it controls the virus.

I thought the regional "heat charts" that Professor Van-Tam showed and discussed last week was very informative.

https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-regional-heat-maps-reveal-how-covid-19-is-creeping-up-into-older-age-groups-12102505

In every region you see very little change in infections in the 0-15 year olds over the past few weeks but you can see the infections starting and very quickly spreading in the ages 16-24 and then spreading upwards into the older age ranges, but not down into the younger children.

If people would behave like grownups and use common sense, it’s not necessary. But I recognise common sense isn’t common. So sadly, lockdown is likely needed.

I cannot comprehend the amount of “where to go on holiday during half term and Christmas” questions EVERYWHERE anymore.

When I was home for Christmas in 2012, my sister was stationed in Japan and was not able to get leave, so we did digital Christmas to include her.  Technology is much better these 8 years later.  I am ready for this!

We were talking last night with my wife’s brother and his wife. They have 2 adult daughters, one is on dialysis and lives alone with 24 hour carers and the other is married, no children. All 3 households live within a few miles of one another and they would normally have Christmas dinner at the mother’s house. The married daughter has said that she will cook dinner, and deliver it to the 2 houses before going home and setting up a Zoom conference so they can all have a virtual Christmas.

I am soooo ready for Christmas with just my immediate family and no one else.  For my US family, it will be the same, just a call to some of them on Christmas day.  For my French family, we saw them plenty last year at Christmas and my memories of that will last me for the future.  I hate Christmas anyway.
I'm moderately sad about missing Halloween, but I bought a ton of candy so I'll live.
Kind of sad abotu Thanksgiving but mostly can't be bothered anyway.

Our Christmas is always just the two of us, Thanksgiving too, so easy, relaxed and enjoyable.  :)

MOAN COMING

There’s a mom at school I just don’t gel with. She, of course, thinks we gel.  She was telling another mom today how they are going to Manchester for half term and staying with her brother. Joking and laughing “It’s only a £10,000 fine.”  And explaining she needed to go as they haven’t seen each other since Christmas.

So I think the government can throw any and all restrictions at us and everyone is going to do whatever the f*** they want for Christmas....

Agree.  I think it's a failure of messaging/tone from the government.  And now that dynamic has been set, it's not going to get fixed until the pandemic starts hitting very close to home for a lot of people.  :(

While I’m not a “resign at the first mistake” person, I do think Dominic Cummings being allowed to carry on without punishment doesn’t send the right message...
