Update from Jeffrey just now is that this morning the doctor has said he is clear of the Covid infection and once his liver enzymes are back to normal he can be discharged, as long as he is deemed fit enough by the physiotherapists. He has just seen the physios and they have passed him fit enough to go home. The final test I think was stair climbing.

He has accepted our invitation to stay with us for as long as he wants and said that having a drill sergeant for a mother will be good for him. His liver tests are headed in the right direction so we expect him to be discharged in the next day or so.

That's the best update! I can't wait 'til you're telling us he's home and settled and getting some proper rest after all that time among the noises of the hospital.  Go, Jeffrey!

Thanks everyone.

He has just gone to bed at 09:30pm.  First indication of his ailment is that he was out of breath climbing the stairs but he managed them perfectly well. He has a pretty detailed set of exercises to do and diary to report on his twice a day walks and his 3 times a day blood oxygen measurements. Drill sergeant Mom will make sure he does them.

According to Jeffrey, Hospital food was either excellent or terrible. The roast beef and Yorkshire pudding was a big hit yesterday as were the 2 meals of lasagne he chose.

In his discharge notes it states that in addition to Dexamethasone he was also given tocilizumab, a monoclonal antibody.

He speaks extremely highly of the doctors and nurses who treated him.
