Oximeter, pills, exercise instructions and diary. He will be receiving a phone call every day to check on him. He has a direct phone number to the hospital to ask any questions. He was really, really impressed with the doctors and nurses who have looked after him so I don’t think he will hesitate to call if needed.

He is exhausted and easily tired but that is only to expected. Being retired it is no trouble for us to take care of him.

That is such good news!
I read that today was actually the worst day yet for worldwide infections.  It's easy to forget that we are pretty lucky in this country.

I got my first vaccine today!

In a world of “second vaccines”, I was my Gp surgeries  sole “first vaccine” today.

*My GP has invited people living with someone immunocompromised to be vaccinated.

We got our 2nd jab today but we don't know what it was. Apologies if I already posted about this but a week ago we signed up for the latest mixed vaccine trial. With everything happening with our son we figured that it was a little something we could do.

We both had the AZ vaccine in February and today we either had the vaccine from AZ, Moderna or Novavax.  Bloods taken, back in a month for more blood tests, keep an online daily diary of after-vaccine symptoms.

Durhamlad, that’s awesome! I wanted to sign up, but none of that kind of clinical study stuff is near me.

Our first vaccine was a little over a week ago, first day and a half were terrible headaches, fever and chills for me. A little rough but still glad we did it. A step forward is progress no matter what. Hope you have no side effects, but if you do, it’s only a day or so and some flu symptoms is all!

Congratulations KFdancer on getting your first vaccine  :)

We are at the limit of the study, it is a 54 mile drive to the Newcastle Freeman hospital but we still reckon it is worth it.

My husband was rough for 12-24 hours after his.

When it rains it pours and my phone has been ringing off the hook about jobs today. WONDERFUL problem to have - just makes me nervous about feeling a bit flu-like. I scheduled one interview for Friday.  I like to think 72 hours is a “good enough” buffer.

Few things brewing and several are VERY exciting!
