Sorry to hear you are still struggling post Covid.  Hopefully a GP will have some ideas.

Just when I lay down (mostly).  But then can't get sleep, which my body needs!  I'm glad I had a recliner I could sleep in last night.  I know I have that in my toolkit at least.

Awww, sorry for the cough and rattle in the chest. Hopefully the GP can offer some help (maybe an inhaler?)

Even just a steam might help that. Feel better, KFD.

So while I'm feeling a MILLION BILLION times better, my cough has been getting worse the last day and night.  If I lay down, all I can FEEL is rattle low in my chest by my ribs.  Last night I had to get up and sleep on a recliner to fall asleep, then move to my bed once I was asleep.  THAT sucked.  I do still have some tablets from when I had pneumonia at the end of 2019/start of 2020.  Looked them up and seems like they don't HURT covid so took one last night and another this morning.  I've requested a call with my GP today.  They are having "extreme staff shortages due to covid" so hopefully I'll speak to one today.  Definitely tomorrow if need be.  I get 24/7 video access to a GP through my private insurance (Doctor Care Anywhere) and you can usually speak to a GP within about an hour.  So I know I have that in my back pocket.
I'll be out your direction tomorrow for an xray, if it might help could drop some menthol crystals to you? I add a teeny piece to a bowl of boiling water, close my eyes (otherwise it will make you cry) and inhale under a towel for a minute or two - helps my sinus inflammation and lungs when I'm ill. The menthol vaporises pretty quickly and then I go for the rest of the steam to keep breaking up the gunk.

So, it took 2 1/2 years but I finally caught Covid.  Work in a care home so have to test Mondays for work and it came back negative, which I expected because I felt fine.  When I got home from work Monday I started getting a headache and my head was pounding.  Lay down for a nap because thought it was just because I was tired.  Woke up and my head was still pounding and feeling dehydrated and had a lot of flem. Took another test and it was negative.  Kept waking up during the night because of head throbbing.  In morning, got ready for work, head still throbbing and still feeling thirsty so took another test and this time the positive came back, took another to confirm and phoned work to tell them i was positive.  Had another cup of tea, was messing around on computer and still felt bad so went back to bed for a bit.  After an hour remembered it was blue bin day and hadn’t put out bin so went to do that.  Put bin out and was heading back in when all of a sudden felt nauseous.  Luckily I have my own garden because I picked my least favorite plant and that’s the one I threw up on....lol.  I hadn’t had dinner the night before or breakfast so it was basically just the tea and flem coming out.  The feeling of nausea just came out of nowhere...hadn’t been feeling sick at all.  Went back in, lay down and when woke up was back to 100% feeling normal again.  Haven’t had a headache since and today feel perfectly fine...hope that was the worst of it.  So now off work until Sunday unless I get negative tests coming back before then but tested today and still showing positive.  I definitely got it from work because hadn’t been or seen anyone since Friday except work.

Oh Honolulu, feel better.  If I've learned anything, it's that it is a roller coaster ride of up and down, up and down.    I'm very nauseas today and my positive test was on  June 20!  Very faint positive on June 25 and completely negative since June 26.  While I'm a lot better, I'm not home free I don't think.

I'm off to the GP at 3pm for them to listen to my lungs.  The sounds I make when I attempt to lay down are definitely concerning me.  I spent the night in the recliner again last night but was just coughing like a loon.  I don't cough (hardly) during the day.  It is SO bizarre.  I'm exhausted from sleeping sitting up (okay, not up up, but not flat either).  Hoping I can at least take some cough suppressants or something.

@AnotherUKYankee, thank you so very much for the offer.  I'll let you know what the quack says and may take you up on your generous offer!   [smiley=smitten.gif]

Appointment went well, they spent about 30 minutes with me so were quite thorough.  Got a cough suppresent with coedine to try to help sleep.  I struggled to fall asleep last night NOT due to coughing, but just the uncomfortable chest rattle.  But I did get better sleep I believe.  All my vitals were strong.

EXCEPT it turns out the back pain I've had for the last 10 days was not a pulled muscle (which I had no idea how I could do as I've been lazying around).  I have a RAGING kidney infection.  So I'm on a strong antibiotic and supposed to call TOMORROW if the pain hasn't gone away as they think it's quite bad (they are sending to the lab to ensure correct treatment).

I guess I'm officially British.  I didn't want to bother the GP with "just a pulled muscle".   ::)  You have to listen to your spidey sense!  I knew it was a weird pain.
