Aww, poor you!! I hope the antibiotics kick in soon and you start to feel better!

Pneumonia is awful. My husband got a nasty viral horrible thing right before our wedding, struggled through the day and it turned into pneumonia and he struggled by for months with it going from a non shifting cough to bronchial and then all the shivers, no appetite, etc. By the time he actually went to the doctors he was really unwell and at one point ended up in A&E for some urgent care.  So yeah, he had a rough several months of recovery!

So you’re having my utmost sympathy and I do hope you’re on the mend soon!!

Oh no KFdancer - feel better very very soon!!

But I have big gun antibiotics...

I have recently been started on IV antibiotics, and when my manager asked how I was doing, I said the EXACT same thing! Great minds!

Fingers crossed! Wishing you a very speedy recovery.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif] [smiley=hug.gif] [smiley=heart.gif]

I’m a bit nervous as I’ve been called into the doctors Friday morning to review test results….

Not knowing is the worst.  Well, Googling is the worst. Not knowing and thinking Google is describing YOU is the worst of the worst.

Oh yikes, that's always worrying when they actually call you into the doctor's office instead of telling you on the phone (or not giving you results at all).
Best wishes, hopefully not *the worst* and sounds like a really good GP following up quickly.

That's brutal!  Did you try pushing for more information now?  I mean if it's routine, fine but they should tell you that and not keep you hanging on, worrying for days.

Being nervous is understandable. Wishing you all the best.

Yeah, I completely understand being nervous. Hoping for nothing too sinister!

And Aquila, how are you doing with the big gun IV antibiotics?

Not too bad, other than looking like a pincushion!

Just catching up here, hope everything is okay KfDancer. Glad they did the chest x-rays and followed up! That's far better than my experience with my GP as of late.

On week 3 of my foot being in a spasm, unable to drive or walk more than a few steps, unable to wear socks or shoes. And the GP only wanted to talk about My. Mental. Health. Apparently I need care the NHS can't offer? Like basic diagnostics? Thank goodness the Rheumatologist ordered a spine MRI but I fear if that's "normal" I will just be left permanently disabled and in excruciating pain.

Thank you all for the well wishes. I’ve received many texts and PMs.

Things are a bit scarier than I had expected and I’m trying to wrap my head around it all. GP was a bit flustered but wants me in to a consultant ASAP.  He did blood draws himself so that they would be done.

Hospital called and due to us (hopefully) going away for a week next Sunday, they hope to get me in for a CT scan or MRI Monday or Tuesday as the consultant runs clinics on Thursday.

Not going to sugar coat it, I’m nervous and scared. I think it’s highly unlikely I won’t be hospitalised at some point to drain my lung.

Short story, trying to stay away from Google. Nothing good there.

I think there is every chance this wasn’t related to Covid. But I’ll know more next week.

I’ll keep you guys posted.

Getting fobbed with that 'pain, it's all in your head' thing from you GP! Hopefully the rheumatologist can help.I hope you're not going to be permanently disabled and in pain. :-\\\\
