It’s a serious possibility! I wouldn’t put it past him at all.

Sadly, that was my first thought, so he can shrug it off and emerge triumphant.

However, I think that it is genuine.

He'll develop serious symptoms, be on the brink of death, and then make a completely miraculous recovery after he takes hydroxychloroquine.  Then he'll have a press conference touting it as the wonder drug, the great drug, the best drug ever.

If it helps, I’ve always known he would be re-elected. He has TONS of closet supporters. TREMENDOUS AMOUNTS!

Not sure they would have taken him to the hospital if he's faking.

Now 7 people from the recent Rose Garden ceremony to present his new SC nominee have also tested positive (some have symptoms, some not).  Many supporters outside the White House yesterday when interviewed were still saying that it is a hoax that Covid is a serious illness and Trump will now prove it by shrugging it off and bouncing right back.  They need to get out a Ouija board and ask Hermain Cain if he still believes that nonsense.

Sigh.

Isn't it a sad state of affairs if one can't believe.... I think he probably does have it. And it was pretty much inevitable that he would catch it. I hope they can track down all those fatcats in NJ that he exposed during his money-stumping jaunt before they spread it further.

He's already gotten the cutting-edge treatments (monoclonal antibodies) nobody else has access to, and if he does become seriously ill there will be nothing spared to keep him alive. At some point Pence may need to step in (shudder). If Pence becomes ill and incapacitated, leadership of the country goes to Nancy Pelosi, I think, as Speaker of the House.

Without wishing either of the two suffer permanent damage, one could only hope that she ends up in charge through the elections. 8)

I really hope Trump has a full and speedy recovery.  He's got an election to lose and then a few years of jail in front of him.  I'll feel cheated if I never get to see him in handcuffs and leg chains.

+3 - the two of us and my wee invisible friend who tells me what to write on online boards.

 ;) 8)

Interestingly, there are two streams of info on this coming out. One says he's doing well. That's the "official" one.  One says his vitals are very concerning and the next 48 hours will be extremely important. I listened to an interview with the medics earlier this afternoon. The press was trying to pin them down about him needing O2. The medics said he wasn't on it today. And he wasn't on it Thursday. And that he wasn't on it "when he saw him last". But when the press kept pushing, asking if he at any point was on it they would not respond with anything other than he is not on O2 now.

Uh huuuhhhh. And a highly experimental antibody treatment.

So I don't think the "he's fine, working in his private hospital suite, nothing to worry about" is actually the story here. 8)

And he was suspected of being infected, but went on to a fundraiser in NJ anyway? That should be a criminal offense.

+8 (it’s my favorite number).
