Took another look at the bank statements and we are ok! The date on the bank statement (front page) is correct. They go from 22 May 2020 to 19 June 2020 and the next month goes 20 June 2020 to 21 July 2020, ect.

So final document checklist:

Application Documents

- My current and old passport (scan every page)
- Signed declarations and consent to checks forms (part of the online application)

Proof of Identity/Travel History
- Husbands current passport (scan every page)
- My brp

Residence in the UK
Accommodation

- Land registry
- Latest mortgage statement
- Latest council tax bill

Cohabitation
December 2018
Chase credit card statement (me)
SSE Hydro (husband)

April 2019
joint council tax bill

August 2019
joint bank statement (Bank of Scotland)

December 2019
Bank of Scotland bank statement (me)
TSB bank statement (husband)

April 2020
joint bank statement

August 2020
joint bank statement

December 2020
joint bank statement

Financial
- bank statements from 22 May 2020 to 13 January 2021  (7 full months plus a little under 2 weeks)
- Weekly payslips from 5 June 2020 to 08 January 2021 (week number skips from 37 to week 40 but that's because week 38+39 the company was closed for Christmas) IS THIS OK??
- Employment letter (now with all payslips listed and verified, explanation about date difference between when each is deposited and date on payslip itself, and explanation about no pay for the 2 weeks during Christmas and New Years)
- latest P60 from April 2020

Other
- Marriage certificate

Still all look ok?

You don't need the May or June payslips or bank statements anymore, because you only have to cover from 1st July onwards.

So, you just need payslips from:
3rd July to 8th January

And bank statements from:
20th June to Present

So, you can take out the following payslips (and corresponding May-June bank statement) as they are no longer needed for your application:
05/06/2020
12/06/2020
19/06/2020
26/06/2020

Ok, but they are listed in the employment letter  :-\\\\ Is it bad to keep them in?

I thought you said above that they were refusing to list the payslips in the letter?

If the payslips are listed in the letter, then either:
- the letter will need to be updated to take them out
or
- you'll have to include the extra payslips and bank statement... though they won't actually be looked at or considered for the visa, as they are outside the 6-month window

They were but I begged and pleaded and they put them in thankfully. Since it was such a hassle, i think we'll just keep them in. As long as it won't negatively impact our application even though they won't be considered. I'm afraid if I ask them to redo the letter at this point, they'll refuse or remove other information we need lol.

Which visa is it listed on the gov.uk site?

Family visas: apply, extend or switch
Apply to extend your stay in the UK: form FLR(FP)

or am I in the wrong place altogether?

It's not FLR(FP) it's FLR(M)

Questions on the application already:

I'm on the section where it asks if I have ever had another name (i answered yes because I am married and had a different surname before)

If you legally changed your name, when did you do this (if applicable)? (Required)
Would this be the date of issue on my new passport?

Have you ever entered the UK using this name? maiden name or married name?

Your identity card (United States of America)

Do you have a valid national identity card?
(Required)
This includes identity cards, issued from non-UK governments. This does not include driving licences. If you have an internal passport, provide the details here.

Would i answer no?

My first thought is that it would be the date you got married, but I'm not sure.

I assume mean the name you changed to - that would be a no, since you only got your new passport today.

The US does not issue identity cards, so you answer no, because you don't have one.

Yea the first question is a little confusing because I didn't change my name right after we got married on anything except driving licence and national insurance. Passport was still in maiden name until now.
