Is this the first time you have applied for a partner route, or an extension, with your current partner (including as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner)?

Would i say no as i am already here on the spousal visa?

That’s correct.

You tick No because this your second partner route visa.

I'm to the point of reviewing my answers and I'm still stuck about the name.

Personal information
Title
Given name(s)
Family name (married surname

Other name
Title
Given name(s
Family name maiden surname

Why have you been known by another name?
Marriage or civil partnership
If you legally changed your name, when did you do this (if applicable)?
15 December 2020 this is the issue date on my new passport that has my married surname on it
Have you ever entered the UK using this name?no i can't make out if they mean my married or maiden surname

if i don't answer part of this right, is it a problem?

No, I don't think so.

I believe they just want to know about any other names in order to check your previous travel history etc. under the other name.

They will have your old passport, new passport, and your marriage certificate, so it will be obvious what the timeline of events was in regards to changing your name.

It reads to me as if they mean the new name, because it's in the same section of questions about the name change:

"Why did you change [to the new name]?
When did you change [to the new name]?
Have you ever entered the UK using [the new name]?"

If you're worried about it though, you can just include a cover letter explaining that you weren't sure how to answer that question.

On the consent form portion now

Is the account with a bank or utility company for which you have supplied information and supporting documentation held jointly by you and other people?
I clicked YES as we are submitting both joint bank statements and the joint council tax as part of our correspondence for the last 2 years

Does the account with the bank or utility company for which you have supplied information and supporting documentation relate to another person who is to provide you financial support? i put NO as my husband is using his bank account solely for the financial requirement

Have i answered both of these correctly?

That's correct. Your husband will need to sign the corresponding Consent to Checks form for this, along with the Sponsor Declaration.

You are not allowed to use third party support for your visa, so this one has to be No, and no one signs the  corresponding Consent to Checks form.

Oh ok, so don't have him sign Part 3 consent form? The way it is worded I thought it was for him to sign but I'll bin that one. But it is correct that I sign Part 1 and my husband signs part 2?

I believe there are 3 things to sign. He signs 2 of them and you sign 1 of them

You sign:
- Part 1

He signs:
- Part 2
- Sponsor declaration

No one signs Part 3.

WorldPay issue - so I paid the IHS no problem, went on to pay the application. I entered the information, entered our Bank of Scotland verification code and the page refreshed and took me back to where I was before entering the card information. I've gotten an email saying the payment went through now but is that my application submitted? I'm sat on this:

Continue to Worldpay to make a secure payment. You will be able to download a copy of your application form after payment has been taken. What do I do?

Well it logged me out lol. Went back in and it looks fine. First biometric appointment was £135.00 without any extra services so I'll do the midnight log-on in the next few days to see if I can get a cheaper appointment. My closest centre is actually closed just now due to a 'covid related issue'. To Edinburgh it will be.

Just to update -

Got up early this morning and went to book an appointment for biometrics. More are available first of February for 69.99. Unfortunately, there was only the option for SMS texts to add as an extra service to my appointment. Looks like I will have to upload my documents myself.

If my local centre opens back up soon, would I be able to change my appointment or is that it permanently booked?

When filling out the application last night I forgot one of my visits out of the UK. It was the first visit back to the states for our wedding party.

Should I do a cover letter explaining the details fo that visit?

The £69.99 appointment should already include the document scanning and document checking services :).

It’s basically a free appointment with those services already included.

See:
https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/additional-services/detail

From that page:

Enhanced service points
We have enhanced service points across the UK. An appointment at one of our enhanced service points also includes the evidence scanning and evidence checking services. Prices start from £69.99 per person.
