Oerating a Foreign Vehicle
« on: December 30, 2020, 04:57:07 PM »
Anyone have any recent experience with importing a vehicle? Is there any time period that I would be allowed to operate it before I register it? My biggest concern is getting it to the inspection place without having to trailer it. It's my Triumph motorcycle and it conforrms to UK standards, but because it was exported, they treat it as an import.

Thanks.

There is no grace period if one is on an immigration visa. However, you may ride it to a "scheduled inspection", which will mean my MVSA and MOT.

There are MOT places everywhere.  I bet you could push it to one.  Or find someone on the Triumph forum who could trailer it.

I can ride to it though under the law. I'll just have to go to Norwich for the MVSA and back to North walsham for the MOT. It should be easy enough after the covid shutdowns end.
