Shipping a Phone (UK to USA)
« on: February 19, 2021, 04:36:50 PM »
Hi all,

I hope everyone is well.

My father-in-law in USA has an iPhone 5 which is also about to give up. Obviously as most people are doing we are FaceTiming a lot and it must not be enjoyable for him on such a small screen.

We want to send him an old iPhone 8 which will be a big upgrade for him. It is unlocked so technically should work.

Does anybody know the best way of sending a phone? I’ve done some googling but no real concrete clarity or instructions. Everything is either really generic or talks about sending a phone domestically.

Thanks in advance.

So, just to follow up. It wasn't a problem via Royal Mail at all. You can post batteries providing they're integrated into a device (eg. phone, camera etc). You cannot ship loose batteries.

Tracked and signed cost £24. Sent it Friday afternoon and it's been delivered today (Wednesday) :D
