Just an update for everyone. I randomly had a glance at the booking website this week and there were 3 days showing next week, with only 1 appointment left. I very hastily put my details in and managed to grab the last slot!!

It looks like they are starting to open CRBA appointments. Keep an eye out.

I’m so jealous! I missed the window. They were all gone when I checked, and that was within an hour of others getting appointments. I’ve been obsessively checking since but nothing’s opened up yet. I will keep checking. Thank you!

Everything went swimmingly this morning and our little boy is now a dual citizen.

The process was very smooth. A combination of having all my documents well organized and the fact the place was near empty. There were maybe 8 other families in there at the peak of it all. The capacity for "normal" operations would be far greater with something like 35 service windows. There were maybe 4 windows open today for the small crowd.

Rest assured, things are happening at the Embassy. Just be quick on the booking calendar. In the past, they seemed to get listed on Wednesdays. Never managed to pin down which hours of the day though.

Best of luck !

Glad it went well! Fingers crossed they’ll open up more appointments tomorrow. Really hoping to snag one soon! :)

Before lockdown 3.0, appointments were released on Wednesday and fridays at 8am and 1pm. No pattern yet!

Appointments were released today at about 2pm. Looks like Thursday at 2 might be the new release time.

I managed to snag an appointment, right about 1:30ish, for next week! Hope anyone still looking can keep this time frame on their radar, but probably a good idea to keep checking periodically!

I received word that my daughter’s passport should be arriving this week. Has anyone else received theirs and can say how long later their kid’s SSN arrived? Thank you!

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone been able to snag an appointment lately.  Is it still Wednesday or Thursday then release appointments ?  Really keen to get my daughter her US passport and social security.

Hi Everyone,

Just desperate to find out how I can book an appointment to register my daughters birth and get a US passport.  I’ve been checking everyday but no appointments are being shown.

Should I email them ?

I am desperate to go home to see family.  I am hoping after I get my decision for my visa application we can visit

If I get my daughter a UK passport would that be ok to enter US?

Thank you !

You will need to get the UK passport to re-enter the UK. But she’ll also need the US passport to enter the US… sorry.

We're in the same boat. My wife is due in August and we'd like the SSN to claim the $1,400 stimulus which we'll need due to her being on maternity pay

You can get an emergency appointment if travel is booked within 5 days.  Unfortunately, it's about the only way people are getting appointments right now.  Literally firefighting!

Thanks everyone.

@KFdancer Thanks for the advice.  Unfortunately I don't have a ticket yet to go home as I am waiting for the approval for my spouse visa application.  I am assuming I can't travel until I receive it.  I was hoping to travel when my 8 year old daughter is off school, but doesn't look like it will happen now.

Do you think once the UK lifts all restrictions from Covid they will open more appointments ?  I just don't want to get an emergency appointment if I can help it.  I don't want to wait for an emergency to happen to apply for it either  :(
