Good evening,My FLR M extension was recently approved — thanks for all your help!!Are the ILR requirements pretty much the same? I believe the financial requirements again have to cover at least six months before application submission, but the savings don’t have to be multiplied by 2.5?Thanks,
Thanks for the speedy reply! When is the Life in the UK test supposed to be taken/passed?
To double check, does the salaried income from the same employer also still have to cover at least six months?
I don't know if it is relevant for you (it certainly wasn't for me!), but the savings amount for Category D, cash savings, is 'only' £34,600, as opposed to FLR(M)'s £62,500. It's a bit less paperwork if it applies to you.
Oh wow, where is the source for this? This actually will be quite helpful for me down the line.
You have to kind of reverse engineer their numbers as it's really confusing the way they illustrate it but it's here.https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/996814/appendix-fm-1-7-financial-requirement-v7.0-ext.pdfBasically it's 18.6k plus 16k. As opposed to 18.6k + (2.5x 16K) as there are no more years to cover. (The 2.5 equates to the length of the visa the savings has to cover, in years)
Oh my geez I didnt even know this! I was about to open a savings account and scrounge up the 60K+ and just leave it there until I apply for ILR in May, this is such amazing news!Kind of hijacking this thread for a question, I assume I can keep the money in a US bank and just provide those statements as proof of funds? Will I need a letter or anything?
