Btw guys...thought I'd also mention I'm Brazilian and need to submit the english test in my application.

In 2018 I passed the A2 test thinking I could use it not only for my fiance/1st FLR but as well as my upcoming FLR extension? Am I correct to think the same test can be used once again? From what I researched back then and recently, I would only need to do the B1 test when I'm next eligible to apply for ILR?

Hopefully there's no such a thing as expiration date for these tests?

Actually, I think tests are only valid for 2 years.... ? :-\\\\

But am I right to think I still need the A2 as shown on Trinity website? (https://www.trinitycollege.com/qualifications/SELT/UKVI?fbclid=IwAR3XVkUFhTPRHSwu455HyCIV-3K5Qtf792Lb2iVJoXf2USztV22w2Yu5h4A)

You may have to pass a higher CEFR level if you want to stay in the UK after 2.5 years. What you need to do depends on what CEFR level you passed for your first visa.

If you passed:

level A1 you’ll need to pass level A2 in speaking and listening
level A2, B1, B2, C1 or C2 you can use the test again for your application if it’s still on the list of approved English language tests

If you were given an exemption, you’ll need to pass a test at level A1.

Read the English language requirement: family members guidance.

Hi Sirius,

However, UK gov website says I can use the test if I "have been awarded in the two years before the date of your application". So I guess this means I can't use my test because I've had it since July 2018...?

Hi there again! Maybe you have been following this thread...I have two questions...

1- Can you advice on whether letters sent by the Office for National Statistics are valid as proof of cohabitation? My husband and I have been taking part on their survey for nearly a year now and we receive letters once a month...

2- Can I use my A2 English Test once again? I passed the A2 when I was going to apply for the fiance visa in Feb 19 and used it again to get my FLR(M) in May 19. At this time I really only needed the A1 it seems and I was already thinking down the line (my upcoming renew) so I wouldn't waste more money so decided to take the A2 and future proof it. But now it seems the test can only be used 2 years after I have passed it?

1- Yes.

2- Ask here. https://www.immigrationboards.com/immigration-for-family-members/
They have much more experience of the language requirement than we do here.

This thread on immigrationboards might help you?

Have a read of the thread I have given on immigrationboards.com. That is a very busy site that covers all routes to living in the UK, from all countries. They will have lots of threads asking about the English language requirement.

Lovely thank you so much! I just want to quickly check which links I'm supposed to use in order to apply for the extension. Would you mind just letting me know if these website are the corrects ones?

1st: https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/product/family-routes?_ga=2.261724813.1291218084.1635934817-2061895532.1633420637 (I suppose this one will be basically a form where I should detail some info?

2nd: https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/home-internal (After I'm done with the above I should head to UKVCAS and book to have my biometric info taken and also to book additional services like the 1-day wait for a decision? Are you guys aware of any delays in the applications?

Ps: Where am I going to upload the documents if things are online now? When should I pay for the IHS surcharge? I suppose I need to include that with my application?

Yes, this links to the entire visa application form. You will need to register an account and then make your way through the application form. You will be asked to pay the IHS surcharge during the application.

Then when you've filled it out and are completely to apply (you have all your documents ready to go), you submit the application and pay for the visa, and if it's offered, the £800 24-hour Super Priority Service ... the date you do this is your official application date, so all your documents must meet the requirements on this date.

You just need to submit the online application before your current BRP expires.

2nd: https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/home-internal (After I'm done with the above I should head to UKVCAS and book to have my biometric info taken and also to book additional services like the 1-day wait for a decision? Are you guys aware of any delays in the applications?

The 24-hour Super Priority service (£800) is not purchased on the UKVCAS website, you actually purchase it when you submit and pay for the visa application in the step above. Currently they are limiting how many applicants per day can purchase the Super Priority Service (due to Covid restrictions), so it may not be available to add when you submit your application... if this is the case, and you really want to use the 24-hour service, you can keep checking it on different days (as long as you make sure you submit before your visa expires).

In regards to booking biometrics, once you have submitted the online visa application (and purchased Super Priority if required), you will be emailed a registration code for the UKVCAS website. You go to the website and register an account, and then you are free to book a biometrics appointment.

There are supposed to be free biometrics appointments available, but they have been almost impossible to get recently, and if you can find one, you may have to wait several weeks to attend it. So, most people have ended up paying for an appointment (up to approx £135) in order to get one sooner (or at all).

- You upload your documents to the UKVCAS website after you have registered and booked your biometrics appointment. You can upload the documents at any time up to 2 working days before your biometrics.

- The IHS surcharge is paid when you fill out the online application... you will be prompted to pay it when you get to that section of the application, and I believe you have 30 minutes to do so and return to the application. You then enter your IHS reference number into the form.

Thanks for that! Do you know if it's a thing to start filling in at midnight or something? Not sure if spots are released at this time or if it really doesn't make a different at what time to start your application?

Ah, I went to the NationWide bank today to get the bank statements ready (just a reminder we are doing the savings route here) and turns out they have given us a different bank statement to what I was expecting. They gave us one big statement (3 pages in total) covering May 5th to November 5th (we plan on applying on Nov 15th in a few days with May to October statements.

However, as previously mentioned, our bank statements are issued on the 29th of each month and this one long statement doesn't really show the 29th of each month because they are only showing the changes in balance covering May 5th till November 5th...

I tried explaning to the lady we needed full statements and she refused saying they give out these sort of long statements to everybody that needs it for visas...I'm wondering if it's OK what they have given us or should we try a different branch?

Do we really need to go to a bank to get these statements? Or can we just print from home without the need of verification from their side? Since we are doing the savings route?
