Hi All-
Have a way to go before I apply for my ILR but never one to wait until the last minute. Questions are:
1. We have always used savings to cover the financial requirement but looks like we will need to use income this time. Is the income they look at ONLY from the applicant or is it household income meaning my AND my spouse's income?
2. Always looking for correspondence in those special months that they will accept as "official". Would a "Poll Voter Card" be official enough?
3. Just like with FLR for the correspondence the Sponsor and Applicant each need three different "official" forms of mail to our home.
4. Going to start studying for the "Life in the UK" test soon, and as you advise, take it well in advance of my application. But do you only get one try? If you don't pass can you take it again?
As always.... Thanks for all the time and support.
Best

You can combine income if necessary. The savings requirement for savings is less for ILR though as you are not covering another 2.5 years with this visa. It's £34,600 instead of £62,500.
Yes, a polling card would count. Best to arrange with your bank to have statements sent monthly, then you are never stuck for any particular month.
You still need mail from 3 sources but it's spread over 2.5 years instead of 2 years this time.
You can sit it as many times as you need to, with 7 days in-between each try.
