Hello,

My wife is on a family/spouse visa, we've been in the UK since the end of 2018. It's coming up for time to renew and wanted to ask if anyone has any experience or advice about switching to a Health and Care Worker visa?

I think it would reset the clock for indefinite leave to remain but we're actually planning on moving form the UK next year so this isn't such an issue.

The reason were thinking of switching is to save money. The family visa is £1000 plus the NHS surcharge, she is eligible for the refund but you can't get refunded if you leave the UK before the end of the visa, so this is another £900 if we leave 18 months before the end of the visa. The Health and Care visa is £250 so it's quite a big difference.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

If she has sponsorship and doesn’t mind resetting the clock (I’d make sure that your plans won’t change), then go for it.
