UK LTD Company
« on: July 06, 2021, 02:53:09 AM »
If I am a shareholder in a UK LTD Company (not a director) , what am I required to file with my US tax return.  I have received no dividends or any other distributions of any kind as its a startup company.  I will eventually also become an employee of the company and go on PAYE.  Are there any filing requirements and if I was to become a director , how would this change if at all.?

You may have to file a form 5471 depending on your shareholding and there may be more implications (GILTI, FBAR, FATCA). Happy to discuss if you'd like. My number is 0161 408 5613 -- Adam
