FLR(M) Prep, rough checklist and a few questions
« on: July 06, 2021, 11:41:48 AM »
Hi All,

I am able to apply for my FLR(M) on July 27th. We are using these next few weeks to gather information together in order to upload it in good time after I have applied. I have a few questions about what we need in bold

Here is our rough list so far.

My Passport (all pages scanned)

**Question I was adopted from Colombia and for my Spousal visa I included a Colombian baby passport from 1983 and my first passport from 2002 do I need these for the FLR(M)

My Birth Certificate
Husband’s Passport (all pages scanned)
Part 1 Consent to Checks form signed by me from online ap.
Part 2 Consent to Checks form signed by my husband from online ap.
 BRP

Accommodation
**We own our flat without a mortgage so last time we used our
Land Registry Document  and the lease. Do we need both of these again?

Council Tax Bill 2021

Finances
We will be doing Category D: Cash Savings We are planing to apply on July 28th the day after it is legal for me to apply. What is the most recent date we need to show how much money is in the bank? How much leeway do they give if it shows a month before is that too long? Does it have to show a week before? Or do we need to wait to upload until we have the July statement?

Proof of Relationship
Marriage Certificate

Cohabitation Proof: We will be providing one piece of mail in each of our names for the following months if we apply on July 28th
June 2019
October 2019
February 2020
June 2020
October 2020
February 2021
June 2021

Is there anything else we need?

Additionally just wondering when we scan things in what format and resolution should they be in?

Thanks so much!

Just following up here with another question.

On the online application it asks "Is this the first time you have applied for a partner route, or an extension, with your current partner (including as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner)? I assume the answer is yes, since this is the first time we have applied as partners for an extension?

Thanks so much

No, this is the second time.

The first time you applied for a partner visa was your spousal visa.

And now the FLR(M) is your second time applying for a partner visa.

Note that the question asks if it’s the first time you have applied for any of the following:
- a partner route visa (a fiancé, spousal or unmarried partner visa)
- an extension of a partner route visa (FLR(M)

We are planning to apply on July 28th the day after it is legal for me to apply.

If you wait until a date closer to your visa expiration, you'll have more flexibility on the timing of applying for ILR.  I think the FLR(m) visa only last 30 months, unlike the spouse visa which lasts 33 months.  So I think if you apply to renew on the earliest date possible, you'll have a very limited window of time when you can apply for ILR.

My spouse visa expires in March 2022.  I could apply to renew in November, but we're planning to do it in February.

I'm sure the experts on this site can provide more perspective or correct me if I'm wrong.

All the best with your renewal!

Ah interesting. I am applying then because I need to be back in the United States right after Thanksgiving for a job. This job will last until right after the new year so we wanted it to be settled before then so that I can physically leave the the UK around Thanksgiving knowing that I will be using the new BRP to re enter in January.

Ah thank you that does make sense!

Does the above rough checklist look like a good starting point?
