I'd try asking on immigrationboards, they have far more experience of the language requirement than we do here.

Fingers crossed the final result is a pass.  :)
Thank you, I'm sure it'll be a pass if the provisional result is a pass.

That's good enough for me.

I'll ask on that other forum later on. Thank you.

I've just gone on the LITUK booking website and when I logged in I got this error message.

Your account is locked. Please contact the helpline to have your account unlocked.

8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday

I'm not sure why, I'm trying to book the LITUK test for my wife, she didn't pass it the last few times she took the test, it's been well over a year now since her last test.

Perhaps the length of time since the last visit is the problem?

That looks like the right number so I'd give them a call on Monday and hopefully they'll sort you out. Otherwise, perhaps you could try making another account with a different email address?

I'm just going to give them a call on Monday so they can unblock the account.

I just don't understand why they need to block the account in the first place.

Hello everyone,

It's that time of the year, that time I don't look forward to. At the end of the 6th month of this year my wife's BRP residence permit will expire.

She only has the LITUK test to do. I've told her to start learning it again - since the last post on here life has changed a lot for us.

- We've had a baby girl (she's 2 next month)
- We've had another baby boy (3+ months)
- We've moved into our first-ever home

The house is on a mortgage, the council tax bill is in both of our names. I just need to update the address at the bank.

I've updated the address for the BRP online but I didn't select the option of notifying them of a dependent change. Is that okay or will I need to let them know we've had a 3rd child?

Let the stress continue and ramp up. 😅

@ksand24
@larrabee

Thanks Javed

I got the confirmation email yesterday saying my wife's BRP contact address has successfully been updated.

I've printed out the application form and the guidance notes and will go through them over the weekend, gathering all the documentation required.

Documentation-wise - do I just highlight the monthly payments on the bank statement or ask the lender to send me a monthly statement? @larrabee @ksand24
I think the other documentation is pretty straightforward. I will make a list of what I have got together and update this thread accordingly.

It's good to see the usual regulars on the forum.

No, because UK citizen children are not visa dependents (they do not need a visa to live here), and they have no bearing on your wife's immigration status nor the financial requirement for the visa.

You just list each child on the application form when you apply for ILR, and you also provide the following for each child:
- their birth certificate
- their passport (if they have one)
- a letter dated in the last 3 months confirming their address, for example, from their GP/hospital or school

Documentation-wise - do I just highlight the monthly payments on the bank statement or ask the lender to send me a monthly statement?

Neither.

You should never highlight or black out anything on the bank statements (or any other document), as that could be considered tampering with an official document.

For the financial requirement, you provide:
- all required bank statements, in full and untouched
Plus all the other required documents for the financial category you are using.

For the accommodation requirement, you provide:
- latest annual mortgage statement, showing your monthly payment amounts
- latest annual council tax bill, showing your monthly payment amounts
They will not check your bank statements for these payments, they just need to know how much your monthly living costs are (mortgage plus council tax).

Hello, @ksand24 the expiry date on the BRP card is 23/06/2023

So can you break down the documentation in terms of the dates - is it a gap of every 3-4 months?

I'm going to gather all old letters etc and then see what I can and cannot use.

Thank you,
Javed

For ILR, it's every 5 months since your last grant of leave to remain which is usually 2.5 years.

Thank you, I'll get those documents together with a 5-month gap between them and list them here for you awesome people to review.

Oh damn, I thought my wife's BRP would expire in July, it expires on 23/06/2023!!  [smiley=doh.gif] [smiley=blank.gif]

Don't you have to submit the application/documentation a month before the expiry date?

I'm spending most of today sorting everything out so I can get this out of the way.

My wife hasn't passed her LITUK test, so if she wasn't able to pass it before the expiry of her BRP or submission of the application, what do I need to do?

@larrabee @ksand24

She got her BRP issued on 18-12-2020 - can you list the months where I and my wife need to provide documentation so I don't miss anything out?

Not who you asked, but passing the Life in the UK Test is obligatory for ILR unless she’s got grounds for an exemption.

If she can’t pass it, she’ll have to apply for another FLR(M) instead.

I've given her at least 2 weeks to pass the test, if not, I will apply for FLR(M) again and then she can pass the LITUK test in her free time.

I'm going to have to fill out the ILR and FLR application forms so I am well prepared for either outcome.

Do we know what the cost of the applications etc?
