Thank you. I've noticed that I don't have a barcode for myself, my wife does, will they let me in? I'm sure they will, I didn't know how to add myself to the appointment, but I am guessing it'll be okay.

Does anyone know how long the appointment will take?
There isn’t supposed to be a barcode for you, and you aren’t able to add yourself to the appointment because you are British and are not applying for a visa.

You can go to the appointment with her, but depending on how much room there is at the location, you may or may not be allowed to go in with her.

In the past it was a requirement for the UK sponsor to attend the appointment with their spouse (unless they had a very good reason why they couldn’t go) but during Covid they were only allowing the applicant in and no one else because of social distancing/lack of space.

These days, it just depends on space available at the location as to whether you can go in with her or not.

They didn't let me in (Manchester) as it was packed out inside.

He said it'll be just a quick fingerprint scan & picture and she will be done.

Erm.. Okay then. 🤪😂

Me too. I didn't pay for priority. Just standard. I don't mind waiting. It's a relief, I can breathe a little now.

That's good. I would have done exactly the same in your position.  :)

Your application under the Partner (FLR M) route of the Immigration Rules has been successful.

You have been granted permission to stay in the UK until 30 Jan 2026

That was quick. 😂

Again, thank you to @ksand24 & @larrabee for the support, words will never be enough to explain what you have done and do for many on this forum. This goes to everyone else that has helped me too. I'll forever be grateful.

The wife is studying hard with the LITUK test, the only thing that's stopping us from being totally free.

That's brilliant news! You can relax now at least.  :)

Tell your wife to hang in there. Keep going with the practice tests. Sending her all the luck for her next attempt.  :)

My wife got her BRP card today in the post and it has the wrong expiry date on it. They've only given her a year! 31/12/2024 but in the email I received it says Jan 2026.

How do I report this so they can amend it and send me the BRP again with the correct details? @larrabee @ksand24

It’s been issued correctly.

They are getting rid of BRPs completely on 1st January 2025 and everything will be moved online.

Because of this, for the last few years, all visas valid beyond 2024 have been issued with an expiry date of 31/12/2024.

See here for more info:
https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence-permits/report-problem

From that page:

If your BRP expires on 31 December 2024

You do not need to tell UKVI if your BRP expires on 31 December 2024 but your immigration status (for example, your visa) allows you to stay longer.

You will not need a BRP from 1 January 2025. You’ll be able to prove your immigration status online, without a BRP.

UKVI will update their information on how to prove your immigration status in early 2024. You do not need to do anything and your immigration status will not be affected.

I definitely missed that news! About time it went online and these cards will be a thing of the past.

I have some great news to share.

My wife has passed her LITUK test today.

It wasn't long ago that I had to extend the visa by another 2.5 years.

So what now? Can I apply for ILR?

Yes, you don't have to wait, you can apply for ILR now as long as you meet the requirements.

She's passed the LITUK test and the B1 that's needed previously. I also meet the financial requirements so I don't see a problem moving forward.

I think I'm just going to enjoy the rest of the year and then get ILR done at the start of the year.
