Immediately after as long as you meet the requirements. (Be sure you were in the country exactly the time listed before applying and not away on a holiday as an example) It's much easier than the visas. I still have PTSD from the visa process and we are trying to buy a house, so I plan to do it in a few years due to the cost.

Yes, as mentioned, you can apply right away as long as you were in the country exactly 3 years before the date of your application.
They are separate applications now so get the citizenship first, then apply for the passport.

@larrabee so once I apply and my wife receives citizenship, does that mean she is entitled to any benefits?

Benefits can be claimed once ILR is achieved, you don't need to wait for citizenship.

Benefits can be claimed once ILR is achieved, you don't need to wait for citizenship.

Not all benefits are Public Funds. There are also some Contribution Based benefits for those who have been contributing to the UK (working for the two relevant tax years before they need these benefits) that are not Public Funds. As these are based on their own Class 1 NIC contributions For New Style JSA and Class 1 or 2 NICs for New Style ESA, their savings and the earnings of their partner are not counted for those benefits.

Public Funds are not only most benefits

I'm looking at getting my documents together now that my wife has passed her LITUK test and I want to get it in before this upcoming change.

@ksand24 in terms of the documents that I need to provide, which date(s) should I start from? It was only a couple of months ago that I extended my wife's visa due to her not passing the LITUK test.

For ILR, the instruction is to provide correspondence from the time you were last granted leave to remain. Because your situation is out of the ordinary, I would start from the FLR before this one and take it up to your application month or thereabout.

That's what I was thinking but wanted to double check. I can add any additional documentation up until when the application is submitted just to cover everything.

No. The application you need is SET(M). That's SET(O)

I'm not sure what to answer here. @larrabee @ksand24

And it's the first option that applies to me, doesn't it?

What can I put down here for this question? @larrabee @ksand24
