I'm not sure what to answer here. @larrabee

And it's the first option that applies to me, doesn't it?

Yes, it’s the first option - partner, 5-year route

What can I put down here for this question?
They want to know about any social ties you have to your home country, such as churches, sport groups, cultural societies etc.

If you don’t have any, just say No or None

That's strange, I don't know where my post has gone where I mentioned I was made redundant (ah it was in another thread) @ksand24 - you mentioned I would need to supply 13 months' wage slips + 13 months' bank statements and one wage slip from my new job.

Where on the application do I change the option so it's not only 7 months of evidence I need to supply?

Hello @ksand24 me again.

My wife got her BRP card on 30/07/2023 (date of issue) so I now need to know which months I need to show evidence for like you normally do. Even to this date I still don't know this bit. 😂

I've now got my first wage slip from my new job after being made redundant. I've got 13 wage slips & statements to show I've been earning over the limit. I just need to request a letter stating the wage slips are genuine, I'm going to ask the previous boss AND get in touch with the accountant, if for any reason they don't provide me with this I will mention this in a cover letter.

I hope you are having a great Easter with family & friends.

Thanks
J

Hi @ksand24

Just checking to see if you have seen my previous message.
I now have a letter from the previous employer stating the wage slips are genuine etc.

Thanks,

For ILR, you're supposed to show 6 evenly-spaced documents covering the time since your last visa was issued.

Normally this will be a period of 2.5 years, with the mail spaced every 5 months... however since she extended her FLR(M) in 2023 so she could pass the Life in the UK test, you may only need to cover the period from July 2023 to now - which would mean 1 document in each name dated every 1-2 months.

Or if you wanted, you could go back further and cover a longer period - you just need to make sure that your documents are evenly-spaced over the period you are covering and you have 6 in each name.

Glad you managed to get the letter from your previous employer.

When you check your documents, you just need to make sure that the payslips and the bank statements both cover a full 12 months (to the day) and that they both cover all of the same dates.

Ah cool, I will do it from July 2023 to make life simpler for me. Would I need to mention this in a cover letter or will the case officer/handler know that I have supplied documentation from July 2023? Could you break that down in a list like you normally do so I can go away and collate that documentation and then report back to you with what I have?

My final wage slip for Feb 2024 was not a complete month, so shall I include that and overall have 12 "full" month wage slips with the addition of Feb 2024? @ksand24

It might be a good idea to just explain in a cover letter to make sure they are aware of the situation (that you extended the FLR(M) again instead of applying for ILR and are now ready to apply for ILR).  You already supplied cohabitation evidence going up to May 2023, so you shouldn't have to cover that period again.

Having said that though, regarding a list of dates for the documents, to make things simpler for spacing and to cover the whole period since the previous evidence you supplied, it might be worth going back to May 2023 anyway, so you could provide documents from:

May 2023
July 2023
September 2023
December 2023
February 2024
April 2024

Quote

The key is to cover a full 12 months of dates with all the payslips (not that each payslip must cover a whole month).

So you take the date printed on the most recent payslip you have received and count back exactly 12 months from that date... and your first payslip must cover that same date the previous year. You then include every single payslip you received in that 12-month period, regardless of how many there are or what months they cover (i.e. if you were unemployed for 3 months in the middle, you won't have payslips for those 3 months, so you just include the other 9 months of payslips).

For example, if your most recent payslip is dated 31st March 2024... then your first payslip must cover 31st March 2023.

So, in that case, you would provide the following payslips:
March 2023
April 2023
May 2023
June 2023
July 2023
Aug 2023
Sep 2023
Oct 2023
Nov 2023
Dec 2023
Jan 2024
Feb 2024
Mar 2024

So that's 13 months' worth of payslips. The bank statements must also cover every single day that the payslips cover... so between the issue date of the March 2023 payslip and the issue date of the March 2024 payslip.

Thank you for the explanation and for breaking that down for me, it makes it much simpler to understand. @ksand24

This is what I have in terms of documentation;

May 2023
- Council Tax bill (Joint)
- Utility Bill (Joint)
- Tax Code Notice letter (Husband)

July 2023
- Bank Statement (Wife)
- Bank Letter (Husband)

September 2023
- NHS Letter (Wife)
- Bank Statement (Husband)

December 2023
- The People's Pension Letter (Husband)
- Utility Bill (Joint)

February 2024
- Utility Letter (Joint)
- NHS Letter (Wife)
- The People's Pension Letter (Husband)

April 2024
- Vehicle Tax Reminder (Husband)
- Utility Bill (Joint) - not yet generated

I have also covered the following months in terms of the wage slips AND bank statements.

  • March 2023
  • April 2023
  • May 2023
  • June 2023
  • July 2023
  • Aug 2023
  • Sep 2023
  • Oct 2023
  • Nov 2023
  • Dec 2023
  • Jan 2024
  • Feb 2024
  • Mar 2024
The wage slip from March 2024 (new job) is included, however, i don't have the bank statement (this month) where it will show the wage being paid. That will be generated on the 18th of April for me to download. I'll also include this as they'll need to see the amount paid into my account.
I'll also add a cover letter explaining my situation of being made redundant and then finding a new job. I'll also mention any lack of letters as the above is all I have for those months.

Let me know if that is okay, I believe I have included as much documentation as I can.
I am looking to get this case submitted before the end of the month.

Thank you,
J

Your previous visa

Do you have a previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain where you had to prove your knowledge of English? (Required)
Yes / No

I've answered yes here.

Tell us the previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain you had - what do I need to add here?

My wife has done her A1 or A2 and B1 tests, she has passed her LITUK test.

Do I mention the first two as the previous/current visa is an FLR(M) extension as she didn't pass the LITUK test?

Finance

Are they a director or non-executive director of a limited company based in the UK?
- Do I answer "No" here? I'm not a director or non-executive director.

April 2024

You have too many documents there, so you can get rid of some of them. I would go with:

May 2023
1. Council Tax bill (Joint) (Source 1)

July 2023
2. Bank Statement (Wife) (Source 2)
2. Bank Letter (Husband)

[b[September 2023[/b]
3. NHS Letter (Wife) (Source 3)
3. Bank Statement (Husband)

December 2023
4. Utility Bill (Joint) (Source 4)

February 2024
5. Utility Letter (Joint)

April 2024
6. Utility Bill (Joint) - not yet generated

You don't need to do either of those things, as neither of them are relevant.
a) you are applying under Category B, which means they will already know you have changed jobs, so there's nothing to explain
b) You don't have a lack of letters, so again, there is nothing to explain

The only thing you need to put in a cover letter is that you applied for FLR(M) instead of ILR last year due to your wife not passing the Life in the UK test in time, and therefore you are only including cohabitation documents covering May 2023 onwards, as you already provided cohabitation evidence dating up to May 2023 when you applied last year.

Ah - that's fine then, I will only explain the situation about applying for FLR(M) due to the wife not passing her LITUK test. That makes it more simple.

Nearly there now with this application, feeling much more confident. I can't wait for Ramadan to finish next week so I can triple-check the application/documentation before submitting it all.

Lack of sleep/food/water/concentration is not ideal for something like this.  ;D

You are not, so you answer No.

If you were, you would be applying as self-employed under Category F or G.
