Well, it’s coming along!

Yesterday’s final shot of the old kitchen!  I don’t miss it!

Today they broke through the exterior walls. You can see the footprint of the addition.  Now, we go up!

The builder built a false wall in the old kitchen. And have put insulation between the studs. So we have a little hall that gets us to the utility room.

It’s like he’s done this before.

They are aiming to get a big steel in this week, which is why it’s had to come down now.

Thankfully we have a good builder who is keeping me sane.

And due to material lead times, most everything is already paid for. ;D

Your kitchen!  I mean your makeshift one... it looks so reminiscent of mine!  We have two electric burners (one induction, one old electric camping hob for a second burner), but no chest freezer (that's the white thing next to the fridge/freezer, yes?).  But otherwise I totally relate to your set-up.  I don't know how you guys do it with kids and special diets, though.

Chest freezer was in the garage.  No idea how we survived life without it!

The new kitchen should make me drool though.  At least it looks amazing on paper!  My goal is Easter….  Let’s hope!

We intend to get a chest freezer eventually, but we're waiting until we have a more robust cooking facility so bulk storage makes more sense.  We're not equipped to make big batches of things right now.  But we will get there some day.

Godspeed, as it were, on your job.  May it all be complete before your target date.

KF!  It's not all the time that I share other people's posts, especially across platforms, but don't let this happen to you! (Or maybe do...?  Depends on how you're feeling about your husband and the builder. ;) )
