That's really funny about the hoodie!  Tell us about tea?  Are you making it for them?

Nope!  We waited a long time for our builder as he is very good and has a great reputation.  I had warned him in a pre-meeting that I don’t “do tea or coffee” and he said “as you shouldn’t, we bring our own”. Sure enough, they have their own little station they set up with all the makings.  Thank heavens. We work!  ;D

I do try to keep the downstairs toilet presentable though!

A few progress photos

This is how the entry way used to look. Straight back was the downstairs toilet.  First door on the right was the study/playroom. Second door the kitchen

We can finally see he extension joined up on the ground floor. Straight back will be the snug!

This was the ground floor last weekend after the concrete had been poured. You can see the window for the snug from this angle and where the boards were by the stairs.

This is the new big open plan area. So the snug is far left, the kitchen will be back by where the photo was taken and the dining table in the bump out.

The new entry from the garage.  This is the laundry room and downstairs toilet.

The pocket door into the downstairs toilet went in yesterday!

A photo of upstairs last week. All the mist coats have been completed. I am hoping the doors and skirting boards went in this week. If we want to live upstairs without a lichen, we could be back in quite quickly.

Keep the photos coming.  I'm living vicariously through your progress.  Guess who's on year six of no (proper) kitchen*!  Stupid pandemic.

*Really, the house we were renting outside of Salisbury didn't have a proper kitchen, either.  Weird oven, only three out of four rings works on the hob (which gave us one more burner than here), no dishwasher, no more worktop space than here in our makeshift kitchen...  I've been living this way for the better part of ten years!  At least now we kitchen in our laundry room, rather than laundering in our kitchen room.  This is an improvement.

Haven’t spoken about the house for awhile as it’s not been fun.  Anyways, things are finally moving again.  SCAFFOLD is gone!  Garage door not back in and sadly won’t be until the end (reasons).

I'm working from HOME HOME today!  Moved my office over this morning.  Woo hoo!!!!!

So lovely and bright.  The rental was cool and old and full of character and charm.  BUT VERY DARK.  And cold.  Missing my kittens, who are at the other house (we will still sleep at the other house at least tonight, hopefully not tomorrow night, but we shall see how we get on.).
