Travelling to the US in a couple of weeks
« on: August 17, 2021, 05:54:45 PM »
I'm a UK citizen and my husband is a US citizen and we are travelling to the US in a couple of weeks. I have 2 questions!

1. My husband's grandmother died 6 weeks ago and he went out to visit to say goodbye. I was supposed to go and had a flight booked but ended up not going. I had my ESTA cancelled then, anyone know if this makes any difference when getting in reinstated in a couple of weeks when we fly?

2. My ESTA expires the week after I return to the UK. Is it like passports where you need a certain amount of time left on them, or does this not matter?

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I continually count my blessings for this forum!

1. I cannot imagine this is an issue however I am not certain. I suppose it doesn't really matter how long since the cancellation. Check the status of it on the ESTA website and report back.

2. You only need the ESTA to arrive in the US. It could expire during your trip and still be OK.

If you're not travelling with your husband ensure to have a photocopy of his passport ID page.
