Maternity pay?
« on: September 09, 2021, 03:32:18 PM »
Can someone tell me if we are eligible for maternity pay?

I'm self employed and don't work more than 10 days out of the month (on average), and I'm expecting a baby on New Years Eve! So just wondering if we are barred from that or not!

Thanks,
Kristen

Maternity Allowance is not classed as public funds.

Congratulations!

As PK said, it’s not a public fund, so yes, you are eligible to claim while on a visa.

You will have to meet the requirements based on your National Insurance contributions. Have a look here and apply.  They will let you know what you are eligible for.
