Land registry doc for ILR
« on: September 19, 2021, 01:10:42 PM »
Hi guys, it's that time again - I'll be applying for ILR in October, and am just finalizing the documents and beginning to complete the online application.

I think I've got everything I need, so won't go through my checklist here. However, what I'm confused about is the land registry document.

1) Is it necessary in addition to a council tax bill and our annual mortgage statement?
2) If it's necessary, then which document exactly do I need? I've paid the £3 and downloaded the "copy of the register of the title number" (that's what it says at the top of the document) for our flat. It's not, however, the "official copy" of the register, which is what you'd have to use if you were submitting evidence in court. So is this unofficial copy sufficient?
3) If the unofficial copy is NOT sufficient - where do I get an official copy? I'm sure they posted one to us when we completed the purchase but I cannot for the life of me find it in my binders full of 5 years' worth of post!

Thank you for any guidance - this forum has been an absolute lifeline for the past 5 years!

It is necessary, the £3 copy is accepted.

Yes, the Land Registry document is THE most important document you need to include for the accommodation requirement as it prove you own the property you live in.

You have to show 2 things for the accommodation:

1) Proof of homeownership =  Land Registry document

2) Proof of monthly housing costs = Mortgage statement and council tax statement

Quote
2) If it's necessary, then which document exactly do I need? I've paid the £3 and downloaded the "copy of the register of the title number" (that's what it says at the top of the document) for our flat. The £3 copy you already have is exactly what is required and is all you need for the visa.
